Cool Free Internet Access

OK those of you that are using a free ISP like Netzero, how do you like it?
Free internet sounds great but there has to be a catch, otherwise nobody would be paying for it.

I am using NetZero right now and it works great. All you have is a ZeroPort toolbar on the top that measures less than an inch on my 17" monitor with my display setting at 1024x768. I was using AOL but it was so slow and would lock up when pulling up e-mail. NetZero connects at 48,000 in Orlando. I have also used WorldSpy and there is no toolbar to get in the way, just a page of ads in IE when it first loads then you can go anywhere. The only drawback is that it connects a little slower.

Go to NetZero's page, download it and try it out. I tried about three or four then cancelled AOL. I moved my web page to Yahoo Geocities and I cannot complain about either one. How could I? I am saving $21.95 a month!!! I still use AOL Instant Messenger and that is the only AOL item that I really used anyways. Hope this info. helps.

Steve

I tried http://www.freei.net/url.php?url=software.php but I couldn't figure out how to brows/surf with it? It's probably just me. I'm not very savy with this stuff

I just got juno free email and internet at home and dropped my $20.00/month isp. I was connecting at 48,000 now I connect at 50,000. After a couple hours online the little ad bar doesn't bother you anymore.

I use Freei.net at work. Better and faster than Mindspring/Earthlink. Connects at 50k+ everytime. Works great with Netscape but emailing out is pain with webmail.
I got Telocity DSL at home so I'm spoiled.

Free internet is one thing and freedom is another. I prefer not to have those tool and ads bars in the screen. I tried a couple of those free internet services but I will stick to what I have now.

My ISP is BigPlanet, works great and I can make money at the same time.

Try www.ifreedom.com
No "banner ads"
However a pop up ad comes along about every 20mins but once you visit the site you can close the window.
Ohhh and also they have free pop mail avalible so you can use either type of email

Another thing I've noticed is ALL the free ISPs in my area all use the same access #'s.
Kinda makes you wonder if they are all owned by thesame company?
