Thumbs up

I use NetZero and it works great. There is a small banner ad plus a portal for e-mail, news, stock ticker, etc at the top but I don't even notice after awhile. I have also tried Freewwweb, Freelane and Bluelight but NetZero seems like they have better support, more dial-up numbers and you can use DSL, cable, etc. if you have it.

I have been using NetZero for about 8 months and they keep updating and improving all of the time.

I was on AOL before but I can still use the Instant Messenger and you can get free web space from almost anywhere to make your own website. I use Geocities and it is much easier to manage your files than AOL's web page system.

Thanks Blue. I've heard people talking about free, gonna have to give it a try.

I have Alltel right now. Originally my cellphone, pager, and internet were bundled into a fantastic $$$ package.

Alltel recently traded towers and areas, so now all three services have been split up. Since then, my computer usually has to dial four times or more to connect. Now the mail server has been down for the past three days, receiving mail but can't send any, very frustrating.

Alltel was great until they moved things around, oh well.

Thanks again.

I just signed up for free DSL service at Winfire.com. They give you free dial up modem service while they are checking if they can provide you with DSL depending on your area and how upgraded your home phone company is. Working awesome so far, very fast and no busy signals or problems connecting. I think they will let you stay on the dial up service even if they can't get DSL to you.

2000Lariat,

Give NetZero a try. I have not had hardly any problems with them. They are doing well as a company so their service and software keep getting better.

I even signed up to be a beta tester for the new version 3 and I got a free T-shirt in the mail just for using the beta!

I will never pay for internet access again! NetZero consistenly connects at 48,000 on my 56K upgraded to a v.90 modem.

I have used FREEWWWEB.COM for about 3 months with no problems, now they are switching to JUNO.COM and I have had nothing but problems. I may have to go back to a pay ISP if this keeps up.

I too used netzero for nearly a year with almost no problems, I now live in an area they do not have a local # for.
I also used worldspy for a while, they had some problems early, and were updating last I heard, but there is no banner! Might be worth a try www.worldspy.com . Just checked their site, seems they are teamed with juno now too.
