Cool Tundra, collapsable??

Well, at a local WaWa today I got to watch an "older" person back into a Toyota Tundra with his Buick. From about 3 cars away I couldn't see anything wrong with the Buick, but the Toyota's bumper was dented in. Guess it wasn't built "Ford Tough".

Cool

I looked at them too. They seemed to be so overloaded with options that the price was out the roof. Low availability on work types.

I finally got to sit in a Tundra and look at it, it's definately Toyota quality which I don't think is bad. The only problem I had was it seemed small for a fullsize x-cab 4x4, really only seemed like the size of a Dakota.

------------------
black 97' x-cab 4x4, 5 speed 4.6, black westin nerf bars, 6 cd changer and a 12 premier sub, pilot ground searchers, borla SS split rear exhaust, K&N genII, bosch +4 plugs, superchip, flexalite electric fan, v-tech oval side window covers, IAS shocks

still to come: new spark plug wires, new rims and tires.

One of my neighbors bought a new Tundra 5 or 6 months ago to tow his RV trailer. Well, last week he shows up with a new Super Duty. The Tundra could not handle it. They are not good work trucks except for light duty. Toyota paid a lot of money to over-hype this truck.

------------------
2000 F150 SuperCab, Short Bed, 4X4, ORP, 5.4L, Auto Trans, 3.55LS, Captains Chairs with power drivers seat, rear slider, class III towing package, remote entry with alarm and just about everything you can get on this truck. Added a Ford bug deflecter, floor mats, a Dynamax Race magnum muffler and 3" mandrel bent pipes, Superchip, K&N FIPK Gen II, Bilstein shocks and Redline Synthetic oil.

I was over at a good friend of mine's house (failed english), washing our rides. Soon enough this big samoan (spell?) guy, comes out on his balcony, sayin' nice truck! He's a really cheery guy, worked on the north slope as a cook. Anyhow he couldn't stop talking about his tundra. Before I knew it he started blabbing 0-60 times (Iknew it would happen?). He said 7.9 for his truck, which prompted a wuick 5.4 from mine stock. He said no-way, his toyota dealer said the fastest ford pickup does 60 in 8.4 seconds. I tell him, letme me introduce you to my friend the Lightning, the other ford pickup. Wanna go for a ride? He jumps in, and I tell him hang on.

I took some turns a little too quick, went a little fast, didn't spend much time getting there, and when we were through, he had a sh$# eating grin on his face. We then compared pro-s and cons of each and concluded we were both very happy with our vehicles. A few minutes later, I saw him hop in his truck I guess to "compare" acceleration and handling charcteristics. He never got back with me on that.

BTW (legal disclaimer), all road tests were conducted on a closed course with a professional driver, with proper safety equipment/personnel nearby if needed as such.

Yeah my dad has one of those Tundra pick me ups. I have to agree with the Dakota size feeling inside one of them. I really think that it makes a huge difference those 2 inches here and 3 inches there etc.
