my favorite was the one they did against toyota where the guy driving the toyota had the really deep voice talking about doing trucker things in his trucker hat, then howie asked him about the mileage and his voice got all squeaky.

Just like how they've demised manual transmissions.

Everyone I know of who knows how to drive stick, which is a lot, all agree that automatics waste gas.

Oh, and btw... my old F150 beats the new trucks by a lot in fuel mileage.

Better yet... my manual 4.7l V8 Dakota gets better mileage than any v8 out on the road with an automatic, sometimes better than my F150.

Beat that.

So what is gm going to do when they put a "man step;" in there truck? Oh wait... they won't need to.. even the 4x4 is so close to the ground they don't need a step.

Maybe because GM's truck is a luxury SUV and the F150 is a REAL truck?

One thing about sitting just a little lower is that it makes it much easier to reach over the side of the bed to get items out. I'm only 5'10" and it's a pain some times since our bed sides or so much taller. When comparing my brothers 05 Z71 mine appears to sit much higher but in actuality they are pretty close to the same height. I just hate how GM has the front bumpers so close to the ground any more. Looks to be too easy to rip the front air dam off the first time you leave a paved road.

I find these commercials pretty funny. I've drove a few of the new body style GM's and honestly I really liked how they drove and felt really comfortable sitting in them. GM makes a pretty good truck and as far as I'm concerned a better drive train than Ford. Granted I have not drove a 09 Ford and probably won't, I just don't like the way they look.

They need to rely on what's good about their trucks instead of trying to make fun of other brands....it's being kind of childish.

Well, I have a friend that bought a new chevrolet and I thought the same thing when I drove it... that it was a better ride quality than my F150.... but then I went and test drove an 09 F150 and I now feel that there is no comparison... The F150 is hands down the better truck.

Ill admit it my boss has a 08 chevy silverado worktruck with the 6.0 liter in it and that thing is a blast to drive, but it just doesent feel as solid as a ford does. i get back in my 02 and im happy to be driving it again.

but that 6.0 liter sure is fun to get on and romp down a ramp to get onto a highway But then again anything with almost 400hp should be fun to drive.

Yea don't get me wrong I like the F-150 better....it seems to more of a mans truck. However if in 05 the new body style of GMC would have been out it would have been a tougher decision. I refuse to own a Dodge or a foreign made truck and back in 05 I couldn't stand the look of the GM's so the decision was easy FORD. I just hope in a few years when I'm on the market for another new one that Ford has restyled the F150 for the better. I just cannot get past the front end and tail lights on the 09's. Although the interior looks to be much better.
