Direct will not help out on this matter either unless I pay around $90 for a service call plus parts. Plus my bill just went up to $85. I plan on switching when my contract is over.

However I know several other with D TV and have nothing bad to say.

Seems like everybody answers are are 50/50.....which is understandable on just about anything I guess...

One thing to add.

Now with comcast I have to flip through channels that I don't even have to get to channels I do have....real annoying. Is there anyway to delete the ones I don't have so I am not scrolling through them?

I already tried doing it through the TV to disable the channels but that does not work with the HD box using the component line in on the TV.

I switched from Comcast to DirectTV back to Comcast. A sunny day cloud wreaked havoc on my DirectTV for some reason, and after about 5 service visits... I told him to take it with him when he left.

As far as the programming, its the networks, not Comcast.

The TV you got is a very good choice. Not sure about the regular channel problem your getting, my 46'' Samsung displays the regular channels 10x better then my normal CRT Sony.

DirecTV since 95. No major problems.
Rain Fade is caused by poorly aligned dishes or faulty LNBs and you just need to find a different person to fix it. Some of the contractors that do DirecTV's service are not very good but same goes for cable techs. Once everything is set up correctly it takes a pretty heavy snow or rain to knock it out.

My dish is aligned well so I've been think it might be a LNB. I've been meaning to look on eBay for them but I haven’t yet.
