Question Supercab or Supercrew?

Thanks to everyone who replied to my posts about my upcoming truck purchase. I've decided to go with my gut on this one and stick with the F-150. I admit the Tundra was enticing but it just didn't feel right. Now a new dilema presents itself. Do I opt for the Supercab or step up to the beautiful yet pricey Supercrew? They're both gorgeous trucks so I can't choose based on looks alone. My two year old daughter requires the space of at least the S-Cab. My wife likes the option of full rear doors and the available moon roof with the S-Crew. I am also willing to give up a little bed space for these comfy extras. The only problem is in price. A 4X4 S-Crew crests my self imposed $30K limit. Does anyone out there have a S-Crew yet? Are they living up to their ancestors reputations? My pocket book is almost where it needs to be for my trip to the Ford dealer. In just a few more weeks I should be out washing my new F-150 Super???

Cool

If you don't need the bed then get what you want and like. It will be with you for a long time and you don't want the "what if" or "I wish we" to be with you the whole time. Check the Supercrew posts they all love their crews. You could always get a small utility trailer if you needed 8' of bed space.

I agree with Firezap, but would like to add a couple of thoughts:

1. Test drive one of each with the entire family. You should be fairly clear on your decision by then.

2. This is the 1st model year of this design. As you know, it always takes a couple of years to find and work out all the bugs the engineers missed. You may want to consider a short term lease on a SuperCAB then buy a SuperCREW in 2 years. This may seem like wasting money, but you could look at it as an insurance policy against all the possible headaches, like the '97, '98 and some '99 owners have with piston slap and door cracks.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Everybody's truckin' needs are different, but the SuperCrew will fulfill a variety of your needs. If you ever want to haul more than one other person, it's the way to go. Check the Supercrew section for more info and pricing, too!

Thumbs up

Since your budget is up to 30K anyways, why not look at the F250 Crew Cab too!!! At the very least, when you and family are test driving, test one of them too. I absolutly love mine. I too took both my kids "test" driving and after each truck would ask them what they liked and disliked about each truck. When "we" tested the crew cab, both kids wanted to sign on the dotted line and take it home RIGHT THEN!!! Mine was less than 30K and that's including tax and tags!!! But you've got to order to get the better prices.

Wink

I opted for the SuperCrew. I have three kids and they all fit in the backseat comfortably. A SuperCab is great, but the back seat was not made for full-size adults. As you child or children get older, you'll love the increased room not to mention the ease of access with the full size rear doors. I love the SCabs and was set to go that way till I saw and drove the SCrew. My wife and kids love it. But in the end, it's all personnel preference. Good luck!

Other planned mods: bug deflector, hard tonneau cover, K&N filter, Longhorn hitch cover, etc., etc., etc.
