Thumbs up SVT RANGER?

Why didn't they make the SVT Ranger. There is a pic of one on here and i really like it. Think it would be a sweet truck.

Here's a link for it: http://www.fordcarclubs.org/fff1997pic.htm

If they ever make it watch out Dakota! Ford should consider it considering the success of the Lightning.

SVT was considering either the SVT Ranger or the SVT F150, they brought in people and had them test drive both vehicles, and I guess the SVT F150 won out. If there had been an SVT ranger instead of the Lightning, I would hae gotten a Lariat. This was in 97 I think, but the fact that there already had been a full size SVT truck, was a big factor also.

Ford is now offering the 205-210 hp 4.0 SOHC V-6 that has been available for a few years in the Explorer, in the new Ranger. Grrr, we just bought my wife a new '99 Ranger in January with the older 160 hp OHV 4.0 V-6.

With that SOHC V-6, the Ranger is going to fly in comparison to it's previous performance, and it won't be to hard to do a "homemade" type of SVT-looking and performing Ranger.
