Question Ford Logo Changing ????

I have heard that Ford was changing their logo to something more modern. I friend at work said that he has a friend that is an engineer at H.Q. in Michigan and the logo has been changed to the same logo but without the blue. It has been replaced with a silver colour, possibly a complete metal look to it. Has anyone heard anything or can confirm these rumours ????

I think the change applied only to the overall Ford Motor Company; as in the umbrella covering Ford, Licoln, Mercury, Jaguar, etc... The blue oval stays on all things with the Ford brand name. At least thats what I read in out paper here.

I hope not! It would be stupid of them to loose the "Ford Blue". I find it dumb enough that today's engines are grey and black? I mean would it be hard to at least have blue valve covers? Oh well if I was marketing director I would leave the oval the way it is and give that "powered by Ford" look of the 70's ....

I think they should leave it as it is if they do any changes to it make the logo light up when the lights are on at night so you can see the blue oval a mile way at night.

That would be a shame. Even tho Ford no longer makes tractors, you can still find Ford Blue paint everywhere, right next to John Deer green.

Don't forget that not too many years ago the Blue Oval was not being put on the front of the vehicles anymore and was re-introduced there, I think, in the early eighties.

Cool

I haven't seen anything about it but did hear about it on the radio station I listen to. They were saying it and didn't say where they seen it at. I hope that it is the overall logo that they are changing, it would a shame to have the logo that has defined quality and reliablity ever since these vehicles became a reality at the start of the 1900's.

Cool

I ended up with an e-mail from my mother which after careful investigation lead me to a Ford Employee e-mail. I asked him about the changing of the logo and this is what he sent back to me.

" The Ford Logo will not change in principal, however, the blue oval is
getting a face lift. It will be outlined with a chrome border and new
pillar for the Dealership body. Looks allot better, new millennium thing I
guess.
The other news is as Ford Motor Company owns several other auto makers the
World Headquarters located in Detroit will be dropping the blue oval from
it's banner. It will be replaced by "The Ford Motor Company" followed by
the smaller logos of Austin Martin, Jaguar, Mazda, Mercury, Lincoln, Ford.

Hope this helps,
Jeff Sauve "
