Fleet sales
Well, my 89 dodge van broke down again about 12 hrs. after the last repair. I got pretty pissed this time and stopped by our new AutoWay Ford which is now part of AutoNation and talked to the fleet manager about ordering a new van. I was treated like a king. He showed me what they offered, gave me a few brochures and then sat me down at the order computer and let me pic and chose what I wanted. Here is what I can get:
01 E-150 True Blue with parchment interior
4.6 V-8 Auto
Ext. upgrade package (chrome bumpers and grill)
Int. upgrade package (B pillar covers, extra sound insulation, etc.)
Tow Package Class III
Deluxe console
CLOTH CAPTAINS CHAIRS
Free Power Group (PW, PL, keyless, Pmirrors)
Free, racks and bins package with partition
Tilt and Cruise
$500 over invoice puts me at $22,546
I can order it with no deposit in July
I would have to sell the van and trade in the F-150. I talked to my accountant and not only would I save operating costs on two vehicles but I would also be in a better write off situation. I am in a hell of a spot now. Can I live with a van 24/7 or should I continue to search for a good used van and keep the "F"? The lowest price I can find on a good used van is about $12,000. I wonder what kind of price I could get on a SuperCrew?
Does anyone have any connections on used cargo vans? It's hard to find one that is not a piece of junk.
