you cant have 2 numbers on a cell phone. An option would be forwarding his office # to the cell but you would still have to keep the office # as an active line meaning 2 bills (office and cell). There was some number portability thing passed a few years ago that let you keep your number no matter what carrier you had but I am not sure you can have a landline exchange routed to a cell phone.

Nope. You won't get two numbers on their handsets.

Best you'll be able to do is to use call forwarding to send calls from one service to the cell.

Yes, you can have two numbers on a cell phone, but you can't use both numbers at once, you'll need to call forward from one to the other. It is called Dual Nam. I have had it on my phones for the past 9 years. You'll have to call around to different cell places to find someone that can program it. Not all cell phones call handle dual nam. Motorollas can.

edited to add that I am not sure if all carriers allow this or not. I am with a Canadian carrier, so I can't help you with that.

Nextel was one of the first U.S. carriers to offer the ability to have mulitiple numbers. Have you talked to them about setting it up? I'm not sure if it is available on all of their phones, but Nextel has that option.

My mom is running dual NAM on her LG.

It's not a big deal at all really.

i was under the assumption most if not all carriers dropped the dual nam feature. Many phones are capable, the problem lies with the carrier themselves not supporting it. years ago Cingular( now at&t) offered it but dropped it due to major billing issues. Vz also had issues. Maybe with newer technology's it is available again. sounds like you are in for some frustration talking to customer service reps. Another option might be 2 different sims.

My alltel seems to have call waiting. When the second call comes I can push the answer button and have a three way call, but anything else disconnects both lines Does anyone know anything about that?

Thanks
