Angry DEALER RIPOFF

Ok, my grandfather took his Lincoln town car to our local ford dealership the other day, and he and i went to go pick it up this afternoon. He got the bill, and there was a $15 "Miscellaneous Charge" on there. The woman said it paid for paper towels, caulking, etc. Has anyone else heard of this? I just thought that it was kind of strange. Lets just say that he wasn't to pleased about it. Have yall run in to this "charge" at your dealerships? Thanks

Thumbs down

Depending on the service done, I have seen charges like this, but not in a long time. Used to be where I lived in CA, you would get charged for consumables, hazardous waste disposal (oil, coolant, etc.) ond tire disposal. Mostly these charges are all not specificaly stated anymore, but they are built into prices you pay for service. Basicaly you are paying for it weather they tell you or not.

I have also not seen this in recent memory. Like JA_Stang86 said..these items are figured into the regular service price most of the time. That sure was a bunch of paper towels they used

Ask for all these items that they used. Do you know how many freaking paper towels you could buy at Sam's for $15.00. Supply them with 2 shop towels and 1 roll cheap paper towels and maybe they'll drop the additional dealer profit charge.

Hunter4x4,

"Miscellaneous Charge" is charged by every dealership in The Netherlands. But is a small amount, certainly not 15 US$ like yours.
We call it here 'klein materiaal'
Check out my f150 maintenance bill here and you will find it.I didn't know you called it Miscellaneous Charge, that's why I translated it to 'Minor Things'.
