I ordered a new truck (my first brand new vehicle) on Jan.13 and just found out yesterday that I should see my truck about the 28th of Feb. That means it will have only took about 6 1/2 weeks to get it. I was expecting 10-12 weeks. My fiance's 2000 ZX2 (ordered the same day) is suppose to take 6 weeks longer than my truck.
What has everyone else been seeing as delivery times? BTW I live in Colorado.

I ordered 12-11-99 still don't have it. Was told about 6 weeks. the dealer called and said ford does not have a built date yet.
Help! does anyone have any suggestions?

 

Hey tkdhoyt, ordered my 2000 Lariat 11-29-99 and received it 02-08-00. I was told it would be in 01-22-00, but it had a delay. I would keep an open mind about the 6 weeks, but it's possible. The waiting is the hardest part.

Ordered mine two years ago, was told 6 to 8 weeks. Took delivery in just under 5.

 

Picked up my 2000 SuperDuty on Nov. 1, 1999, 6 weeks to the day that I placed the order. I was ready for it, although my financial arrangements were not!

My SuperDuty also took 7 weeks from order to me driving it

Goose: what are you ordering, some options and some configuations of trucks take longer. Also, did you check with your dealer to make sure he had the allocations to order this truck?? When he put in your order, did you get a copy of the DORA?? On this will be a priority #. Find out what your's is. If it's higher than 10, then there's gonna be a wait!! (mine started at 10)

Just be glad you didn't try to order a Lightning. Deposited in August 98, delivered in May 99. 2000 purchasers have the same wait. First deliveries maybe in March for orders from last August.

Goose: I don't think there's any shortage on the 5.4 I guess Ford is turning them out as fast as they can. I have heard there's a shortage of the Diesel automatics and Ford has an upgrade option on the manual diesels to entice people to buy the 6speed. Haven't heard anything on the 5.4 though. Has your dealer given you your VIN # yet???? Your priority of 11 doesn't sound bad, 10 is better. Bug your dealer for the VIN #

 

Ordered 4-12, priority of 10, & was told the dealer has allocation to order it. I still don't have a VIN & Build date. How long should I wait before I start harrasing the dealer? Anyone else with orders placed recently?

I ordered mine 3/13, and didn't get a VIN until 6 weeks later. The build date came a couple of days after that. Expected delivery date is May 15th, 8 weeks on the dot. I was told 6-8 weeks.

quzax: I think (trying to remember!!) that I put my order in on the 10th of Nov. I had confermation and a priority# back from Ford on the first day I ordered it. Didn't get the Vin # until near the end of Nov. And I believe the build date came right after that. I would "drop in" to see my dealer on Mondays and Fridays to ask him to check his printouts for my truck. This is one of those times you have to be really sweet to the dealer. Don't call to often!!!

 

Just thought I would update. Got a call today. My truck is expected to arrive at the dealer on 5-25 (approx. 6 weeks after order).
Dealer didn't have build date on had he's going to fax it over so i'll add that when i get it. Only 2 weeks left of waiting. =]
