Exclamation VENT your frustrations here!!!

For the most part it seems that we are a happy-go-lucky bunch. I am sure we all have a little "trouble in paradise" from time to time. Let me be the first to vent a little.

ON 4-28-00 I called and had my captians chairs shipped after selling my existing 60/40 to a friend. The second I hung up the phone it all started. My buddy shows up with his big stupid dog until he closed on his new house the following Monday. His dog and my dog don't get along too well but I don't mind dogsitting for a few days. The following Sunday I had toothache (a lingering childhood injury) and a 103 fever. The next day (Monday) my friends house doesn't close because the roof is bad and I find out I have to get surgery done on the bad tooth that wasn't fixed right 20 years ago. I go out to collect rent and find out I have three vacancies without notice and my handyman is gone on a three day drunken hiatus at the beach. So now by Wednesday the 3rd I am painting all day long, collecting rent when I get sick of painting and going home to two dogs that fight almost the entire time they are together. In the meantime I am on antibiotics for the tooth and all of the pain medicine is packed because I am buying a new house in June. Thursday the 4th, I finally found the handyman at his house, laying naked on his sofa and hungover. He works for me that day and I get caught up on rent collections.

Then came Friday and the surgery. The endodontist slcied my upper gums from top to bottom at almost each end and peeled my gums back away from my teeth. He then poked, proded, and drilled for about an hour and then I guess he decided that I had enough for one day and sewed me back together. He said I should be OK in a week or so. In the meantime, the captains chairs I ordered did not arrive on that same Friday as I was told. Laid around all weekend drooling hopelessly and listening to the damn dogs fight constantly.

Now it is Wednesday the 10th. I still do not have the captains chairs (they may have gone to the wrong address) and my tooth hurts more now than it did over the weekend. I can't eat, I can't talk, and I can't sleep. I have work backing up every day. That dog is still here until they rectify my buddies roof problem. I only have one satellite receiver hooked up and my girlfriend is hogging the TV to watch that "Beverly Hills, 90210 Thank Gawd it's Finally Gone" special.

I feel better now, please excuse me while I go hug my truck. Maybe I should've just lived with the 60/40 huh? I may also be somewhat delirious from Lortab (good stuff) so forgive any ramblings and/or misspellings.

That sounded pretty bad. But then I got to the part about 90210, I realized the horrible truth: You must be cursed!

I feel for you, seacrow. Now, just wait till you get the bill from the orthodontist. That ought to make your day!

Good thread you started. We need a good place to rant. Raoul said he likes a good rant every now and then and I agree.

Here's a link to a very popular Canadian TV beer ad. The ad's known as "Joe's Rant". It's about the differences between Americans and Canadians and it's all in good fun.

Wow Seacrow! And I thought the Andretti's had bad luck.
On a side note, I hope your handyman didn't show up to work naked.

Well as long as we are venting. Here goes. Down here in Southern Cali we have a Grand Prix series of 6 offroad races. I signed up to do the races on my quad. The first race (Adelanto Grand Prix) I managed to take the holeshot for my class (Novice) and take the win for my class finishing 16th overall beating every amateur but one. Very exciting. My next race (Glen Helen G.P) I almost took the holeshot and finished 4th in class. Not bad, not good. Next race (29 Palms G.P) I managed to get second in my class and 8th overall. Very good finish. Bear with me, there is meaning to all this. Out practicing at a local track and I manage to break my leg. Not realizing the extent of my damage I walked on it for a week before going to the doctor. Bad news comes there after. I am not allowed to ride my quad for a month and a half. Now I miss the 4th race of the series and thus lose my points standing. If I don't get good finishes in the next 2 races I will not have enough points to move up in class. It may not seem like much but it really pisses me off that I might not move up. I've tried so hard. Now I will step out of the spot light and someone else can share their problems.

Bones, it sounds like you have a high threshold for pain like I do. Walking around on a broken leg for a week is like eating peanut brittle with a bad tooth. At first, I thought my tooth was sensitve to hot/cold, HA! Good luck with the quad races. I know how ya feel, it's like one step forward and then two steps back.

It is now one week since the surgery I had and now I have acute bronchitis. Nothing like having to blow your nose and cough with swollen mega-senstive gums. The pain gets maybe 2% better each day. I expect in two weeks from now I will be back to normal. I still don't have my captains chairs and that damn dog is still in my house. And these Lortabs (Hydrocodone) pain pills are absolutely fantastic, perhaps the best part of this whole thing.

DB Dave, your right about 90210. It was a horrible 10 year curse on us all.
Indyfan, the handyman has been fully clothed since that day. I think he needed the break. To each their own.
shifter, this thread has already made me feel better. The bill was only $242 (of course I have spent thousands over the last three years) I joked with him and told him I knew it was mostly profit becasue the butter knife and the clothes hanger he used for the surgery couldn't have cost him that much.

I'd kill for a cheeseburger right now!!

Seacrow, when those chairs come install them right away, or the way things are going those two dogs will rip them up!

Seacrow,
It wouldn't be too bad but I was doing so well that it hurts to watch it go down the toilet like that. Could be worse though. I could be eating peanut brittle with a bad tooth. That would be a bummer.

It get's even better. It seems that my captains chairs went for a ride around the country before some rocket scientist figured out that there was no shipping label on them. Lucky they got back to where they started. They were shipped again today. So who knows.

I still have bronchitis, I am still in pain and I still do not have captains chairs.

Sorry about the "If I were king..." topic, I was under the influence of Lortab, Robitussin CF, Augmentin 875mg (horse pills), Halls Cough Drops, Vicks Vapo-Rub, Goldenseal Root and Claritin. I don't even really remember starting the thread. Kinda spooky.

That really bites. I'd be really pissed if they sent my Captains Chairs around the country. Buncha hoodlums. Sometimes it just simple mistakes though.

Considering all the drugs your on do you remember starting THIS post? Just messing with ya. Hope your chairs show up soon.

I am healed now! Just a hint of pain from the incisions in my gums. The bronchitis is 99% gone! I still have a few Lortab pills left, better take those to be sure!

Just in time, my girlfriend was about ready to cheat on me.

OK, the captains chairs finally arrived today at about 5:30. THEY ARE NOT THE CORRECT ONES. They appeared to be from a Dodge Dakota. I asked the lady several times if they were Dark Graphite from a 99. She said yes. When I called her back (after refusing delivery) she told me that they were from a 98 F-150. I am so pissed. She said she would locate some and send them ASAP. I think I am about sick of this. I am gonna give her a day or so and take further action.
