I usually post from my iPod touch. I can now type faster on the touch, than I can on my LG enV phone. I'm holding out for a CDMA (read: Verizon) version of the iPhone. AT&Tingular leaves a lot to be desired on the CS side of things, as well as subpar signal in the areas that I would use it most.

Did you go with the white or black? If you've not chosen a case (if you're so inclined to use one, that is), I recommend the SwitchEasy brand of cases, particularly their "Colors" version. I've got the ColorsTouch for my iPod touch, and the case it phenomenal. And, it's only $15. And, it includes covers for all ports on the iPhone.

I was with verizon but had several bad CS experiences. Just recently I wanted to upgrade my plan, add a line and get two new phones... They said ok, but you will have to pay full retail price for the phones. My wife and I each got iPhones for less than what verizon wanted for one BB Storm.

AT&T covers all the places we go, so we figured why not? Plus we figured verizon won't be getting the iPhone anytime soon.

Edited to add: we both got black ones. Thanks for the tip on the case, I'll look into it.

Everyone has different experiences for sure. The only reason that I'm not even considering jumping ship is because of the good 'ole ETF. I'm under contract with VZW until mid-2010. By that point, the AT&T/Apple exclusivity agreement will be over. From what I can gather, Apple wants to get into the CDMA market in the US, as that's another ~100 million potential customers. If they only sell 10 million, at $200 a pop, that's $2 billion in revenue. I like my chances that they'll sell for VZW.

It is a little rough to browse here especially if there are a lot of pictures with an iPhone. But I still check in on mine though...

I love mine. I'm posting from it right now while sitting in my heated shelter icefishing on Lake Simcoe.
I have no problems with loading pics. Sure it's not as fast as my cable, but I generally pick up a great 3G signal wherever I go, even out here in the middle of this massive central Ontario lake.

Hell yeah! We each got the 8 gig... My old iPod was only a 2 gig, and I got an 8gig nano for x-mas, so now I have more storage space than I know what to do with!

yeah 8 gig is plenty. I bought a 16gb ipod touch and I never use half the capacity of space. I don't see the point of having 16 0r 32 gb of music with you at all times.

I also have an extra ipod touch 2nd gen 8 gb for sale $180.00 shipped

I've got the 32 GB iPod touch, because I only load it once a month or so with media (music, movies, podcasts, etc.). I'm in the truck a good bit, so having a large shuffle capacity is good. And, when I'm in the lab, I either have it hooked up to a multi-room speaker system for all of us to listen to, or on my person for solo listening. Since I've got 44 GB of music, 100 GB of movies (almost every one on DVD ripped), and about 15 GB of TV shows, the 32 GB made sense for me.

I'm going to be ticked when this fall they release the 64 GB with wireless-n networking. But hey, with Apple, the minute you buy something it starts to become obsolete.

inurok, you still have that 8 GB iPod touch?
