Safety question
Hi all,
I've got a question about something that happened to me over the weekend. I was returning from the Oriole's game saturday night(what a letdown!). I was in the right lane getting ready to get on the I-95 onramp around the bend in the road. It was raining hard and I was going slow. Just as I turned the bend, I hit a deep pocket of water and at the same time my companion yelled 'Watch out!. I heard a thump and I asked "What?". She said I just hit a dangling power cable! Ok, so my question is if the power cable was live would I still be safe?

Safe, unless you touch a metal part on your truck and the ground at the same time ie: getting out.
Electricity will always look for the shortest way to the ground. If a powerline is touching the body of your truck, and you are in the box, then you will not be shocked. Sort of like a bird on the power lines (they don't get fried). But if you take one foot and land it on the ground than ZAP! your toast!!!
But I would stay away from downed powerlines... Play it safe and live to play another day!!!!!!!!!1
