digital dial calipers

thinking of getting these calipers, what do you guys think?

sold through new egg which is a very reputable computer store, and they are an American company apparently

for that price you can't really go wrong just to try them. the ones we use at work are ridiculously expensive, around $200 for a 12" caliper. but ours are supposed to be really accurate because we have to meet Lexus quality standards since we are a toyota supplier.

As long as you don't need to be uber precise they'll be ok.

i need about .001 tolerances and that one will do increments of .0005 right now im using a harbor freight .001 dial caliper so its probably a step up. i realize the are not the best but i had just gotten an email from newegg about them and i do need 2 sets now

They will be better than your HF stuff. If I needed some I might pick them up.

I need some for home. I'm probably gonna pick some up too. I know they will work fine for anything I'd need them for at home.

That's the first set I've seen that does 1/128 fractions. Thats new to me.

Nabbed a set for myself.

My current set has a crack in the battery cover that forces me to hold it in place with my thumb in order to get the thing to work -- annoyed the he11 out of me that last time I had to use them.....

They'll be more than accurate for the type of work I do.
