Through the past couple of months I have seen several ppl here that have the 4.6L Manual.
Did ANY of you buy it off the lot?
I didn't see a single one when shopping.

I saw one here at University Ford in Durham NC, but it didn't have a LS rear or I would have taken it. Did however see a lot of manual V6's.

The reason I said why is that I wanted a V8 manual and coudn't find one anywhere, yet I see so many ppl here that have them.

 

Well I looked around for over a year to find v8 4x4 manual, all the places I went to pretty much laughed and told me I had to order. So I was about to break down and get a automatic that was like 30k and be totally poor, but I lucked out and found a used 97' manual 4x4 v8 xcab in a magazine. Drove down the next day, drove it and sat down in refused to leave til they gave me a better price, drove it home later that night. And I'm so glad I had the patience to wait. I love it to death!

Well after totalling my old F-150. I went to my dealer and told them I wanted a blue or black XLT V8 w/5 speed 4WD. The bastard tried to lay a gold Lariat supercab on me but I told him that was a little too fancy for me, a few minutes later he took me around back and they had mine there hidden, he told me I was lucky

I had to order my last truck (flareside XLT 97 V8 5speed) I also had to order this truck:V8 diesel XLT Crew Cab 6speed. Both dealers that I ordered from thought I was a NUT for ordering the manual. Nope, I just love to shift!! And when you go to sell that manual, don't use it for a trade, the dealer wont give you squat for it. Even though he knows that the person looking for a manual will pay top dollar for it. The V8 manuals are rare, if you happen to drive one then you already know what a great engine it is.

I found mine on the lot! Sounds like I was lucky. When I bought the truck I called the dealership and told them what I was looking for (including manual 5 speed trans) and the salesman said I think I have the truck for you. Love at first sight and bought it the following day.

All though they assured me they could find me one with a five speed. Must be something to do with the new breed of truck and suv people leaving their cars behind for a trendy truck or suv.

I only found one in a 50 mile radius when I was shopping, but I didn't like the color, so I ordered. I was thankful enought to find the one, so that I could test drive it.
