If you have anything running around killing your pets or worse and your Sherrif says their is nothing they can do then start by shooting the Sherrif. WTF are they good for if they can't protect property, pets, children or anything else.

maybe you should actually check out PETA's real agenda.

PETA does not believe that ANY animal should be kept as a pet. They want to do with all domesticated dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, guinea pigs, etc. etc.

Most people have no clue what PETA is really about.

I don't use the word "pet." I think it's speciesist language. I prefer "companion animal." For one thing, we would no longer allow breeding. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship - enjoyment at a distance -- Ingrid Newkirk, PETA's President, quoted in The Harper's Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223
Let us allow the dog to disappear from our brick and concrete jungles--from our firesides, from the leather nooses and chains by which we enslave it. John Bryant, Fettered Kingdoms: An Examination of A Changing Ethic Washington, DC: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, (PeTA), 1982, p. 15
We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals. They are creations of human selective breeding. quoted in Animal People, May, 1993

Are you for real? I am in no way a PETA member but they are not trying to do away with the houshold pet. If anyone doubts me Google PETA and read their mission statement. Then look at the links where they encourage you to take in strays for pets and support facilities like the SPCA. I just did.

Now what is your real agenda by posting that Penguin?

How can you expect to have anything intelligent to add if you didn't bother to even read through the thread? This is why you are having trouble fitting in around here.

Ignorance is bliss huh buddy? PETA is well known for promoting radical ideologies, including the firm belief that no animal should be made to serve Man. They have paid for the lawyers to defend domestic terrorist organizations like the ALF and and ELF. Specifically, to defend people who firebombed various public and private buildings.

They're incredibly hypocritical as well. They claim to be for the protection of animals, yet PETA routinely kills most of the animals given to them. Remember hearing about the PETA employees who went around gathering cats and dogs from adoption centers, then killing them and throwing them in a dumpster of the local grocery store? (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...DG11DC9BK1.DTL)

There are alot of skeletons in PETA's closet, there's too many other things of greater importance going on right now for anybody to really care.

yea you go ahead and believe their website.

PETA gets people to believe in them by playing to their ignorance.

The quotes may be 15 yrs old but the agenda of PETA has not changed one bit since then.

Again i'm not going to bicker back and forth. If you dont want to accept the truth and just keep whinin then go right ahead.

Sure hope you dont own a gun or like to hunt or anything like that 'cause PETA hopes to do away with all of that pesky stuff too

I am not here to defend PETA or any other activist group. I am sure I know as little as any of you about what PETA is really about. Besides if you are going to paint an entire organization with the same brush because of the actions of a few then the US postal service is a bunch of homicidal maniacs and every Muslim on earth is a terrorist. I posted on here because I felt that the idea of one man taking things in to his own hands was wrong in that situation. Was I wrong to jump to a conclusion I suppose. I think the biggest issue here though would be the fact that no authority group as in animal control or the Sherrif was willing or able to do anything to prevent this situation from happening in the first place. If these dogs were a known problem why were they not dealt with beforehand?

"you caught me... you caught the tater."

Ron "Tater Salad" White

That is probably one of the best comedy routines I've ever heard. For those who haven't heard it, it's worth finding on YouTube.

it's not painting an organization with the same brush because the actions of a few when it's the PRESIDENT of the organization telling people their organizations goal is to do away with domesticated animals

I promise you it's ok to admit that you were wrong, you won't die from it
