Question Ladies and Gentlemen I need help.

I got bit of a dilema here. I got some mud and wet limestone inside it my driverside exhaust tip. I know that this question should be in the exhaust fourm but this one seems to get the most attention. Should I worry about the dirt and stone affecting my exhaust system or will it stay in to tip? How exactly do I clean out or should I take it to the muffler shop? Please help!

Wink

I would bend a coat hanger in a loop and stick it in there in such a way as not to push the stuff in further, and then scrape it out.
It IS an exhuast (as opposed to intake) so I doubt that this should effect anything important other than the blockage that might exsist if there is a signicant amount.

Cool

snow white: I sure would like to hear the story on how you managed to do this!!! Is the pipe plugged solid?? Has it dried to a hard solid?? I too think Andthensometoo's idea to stick a coat hanger up there would be the way to go. Shoot, as long as the muffler and pipe were cold, I might even try squirting a "little" water to help it out along w/using that coat hanger.

ATST,
I had gotten most of it out the exact same way you suggested before I read your post(great minds must think alike). All that is left in the pipe is some of the crumbled up pieces of lime stone which now have hardened up. i think that I'll try Tina's idea.

Tina,
To answer your question, I was at a co-workers house in the country for a herding clinc and when I was leaving I backed into her drive way. On both sides of her driveway there is a dip for drainage and my back end was too low and my pipes bottomed out on lime stone and crushed granite.

I got all the big stuff out and straightened out the pipes so everything seems to be fine.

Thank you ladies for responing so quickly, I feel so loved.

Spray it out. Maybe even use some sort of degreaser or chemical cleaner. As long as you don't drown your exhaust in water, the exhaust heat and flow will get rid of all the water. If you still have problems take your tip off and clean it out. Chances are it won't really affect your performance. But cosmeticaly it just doesn't look right. $30,000 truck, crappy exhaust tip, just doesn't work for me.
