For me, if it aint from the 90's, then it probably sucks the big one.

Back when Alan Jackson had the summertime blues, when goodbye said it all for Blackhawk, Brooks and Dunn didnt know how long gone she was gonna to be, Clay Walker was dreamin with his eyes wide open, Diamond Rio met in the middle, Garth Brooks was feelin old even though he was young.........havent even started on this ish.

There are exception of course, but that covers most of the country I listen too.

New Brooks and Dunn sucks, I wanna hear about Norma Jean Riley, not fn old man Wrigley and red dirt roads, or how you saw the damn light.
Tim McGraw? If your starts go blue one more time or you make one more what the hell you would do when your dying song, Im going to send you down on the farm with an indian outlaw to whip the Fk out of you to remind you of your old good music.
Toby Keith? You wanna know how I like you now?? NOT MUCH. After you recorded shoulda been a cowboy, yeah, you probably should done that then.
Rascall Flatts? Dont even get me started on that chit. Nsync with a 'county' (my azz ) twist.

Thank God I have a very large CD collection and an iPod so I dont have to listen to the radio and that new 'country' they play now. There are very few times I will crank a radio station, BUT, there still is some kick azz new stuff too.

Rant over...

I hear what you guys are saying about old country and new/contemporary country but lets face it, if some of the old guys didnt do some new country I don't think country would have survived this long, in today's economy what ever sells is king and as I call it "pop country" is selling, example given Hootie and the Blowfish's; Darrius Rucker his career was long over for pop, and low and behold, record one song with a little country twang and viola, a super star all over again. I agree, what I call pop country isn't pure country. its pop with a lil twang and a lot of flash. What us old timers used to listen to in the 80's and 90's rock/pop is no more thanks to Rap so we migrated over to "new country" along with our checkbooks for tickets and cd sales. I have seen Shania Twain, Jason Aldean, Dirks Bently, Alan Jackson, Rascall Flatts, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney (yeah I like the college party beach crowd) Sugarland, Matrina McBride, Brad Pasiley, Reba, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, and no the majority of these are'nt old school country, but the plus side is they have a LOT of hot young ladies at these shows

PS-I have the new George Strait cd and it to me, its pure country, give it a listen.

Is it legal to be from texas and live in Georgia and not like country music? Almost everything yall have listed is on my ipod. So instead of listing everything ill just name a few I don't think have been listed much.

Chris Cagle is good, saw him live at the county fair last year. Was pretty cool.
Jason Michael Carroll
Dierks Bently
Jason Aldean

As sad as it may sound, if a song mentions ford it becomes a good song to me.
