5.5" Box Racket

Just wondering if anyone else has a supercrew short box?
I have one, and it makes one heeeeelllll of a racket!
You can look in the mirror on a semi rough road or just when you hit a bump, and its shakin all over the place...
Now yes there has to be some give in your truck box, but this is crazy...
It does so much jumpin around that the tailgate is all chaved at the bottom from hitting on the box...And What a racket that makes...
Had it back several times and they cant fix it?
My buddy has an 04 supercrew 5.5" box, and that thing BARELY moves
Another friend has a 2008 FX4 5.5" box and it does the exact same thing as mine...And its funny there is a bump in front of my house on the main country road and every F150 shortbox that hits it you can hear the smash that the boxmakes, wether its the tailgate hitting the box or what, but it seems to be a problem in many of the F150's...
Anyone have any solutions?
I took out a Silverado and a Ram just for fun, as I would never buy one, just to check out the box movement on normal roads, and they barely move at all?!!

My truck has the 5.5' box. It behaves exactly as it was intended to. No problems AT ALL! It's tight.
It's time to lithium grease the tailgate latches again though. I can hear them squeeking over bumps/ridges.

This is the first I've read about this btw.

Go to the back of the truck. Look at the tail gate... are you sure it doesn't say toyota tundra on it? I have a very hard time believing that the tail gate is actually hitting any other metal and denting it. Fact of the matter is that the Ford has the stiffest frame in there trucks. I hate to say it, but I am thinking BS troll. If I am wrong I will apologize. Welcome to the forum

I had an 05 Screw 5.5 and now an 08 Screw 5.5. Neither one has/had this issue.

I have a 2004 FX4 S-crew short box. I have noticed that the bed shakes over continuous bumps, but it hasn't really made much noise. I was almost wondering if the previous owner had the bed off for some reason and didnt get it torqued back down properly. Well, until I started reading on this site! Its not a huge deal, I dont see it making it to a huge deal. Like Chris1450 said, theres not really much contact area for the tailgate..Maybe it is shifting side to side a bit on an older truck and maybe making contact on the sides? Either way, I wouldnt be in any other truck than my F150!

My 05 doesnt shake at all. I have heard others complaint about the same thing.I would just check the basics to make sure everything is tight.

hmmm, check under the box see if the back rails of the bed are on the frame, could be floating making the bolts seem tight but allowing the bumps to bang the box around
