This is what I pay for maintenance.
My apologies for that green font.
Engine oil change.
As you can see,my dealer is charging me for 7.397 quarts/7.0 liter.
My manual says you can refill only 6.0 quarts/5.7 liter.
How about that???????
Notes:
Specifications for viscosity are different in Europe.
Can you tell me what you pay for these parts.
TIA

For twice the price of the stock air filter may I sujest a K&N filter that will last 1,000,000 miles
Wow thats tough, man! Next oil change I would stay right next to the mechanic and count how many liters of oil he/she puts in. Then check the dip stick. This way they won't over charge you for oil and show them the bill that you kept from last time for a refund! If indeed you can not fit 7 liters of oil there.

Canadian prices: Oil - about $Cdn2.00 per litre. Oil filters - about $4 at a discount place to $7.00 at a dealer. Labour - about $60 per hour at an independent garage to about $72 per hour at a Ford dealership.
I have a friend in Rome and what you are paying is cheap compared to what he pays.
Keep smiling and just pay. You've got a great-looking truck.
By the way, I think your air filter is good for a lot longer. Check that out.

Thanks for your reactions, so far.

4byFord:What do you think a K&N filter would cost here?
Don't know if we are talking about the same filter(1,000,000 miles sounds familiar to me though)
My dealer had one:at least 310 US$,443 CDN$
Shifter:Labour is expensiv in Canada too?
Almost the same as here.
Karick11: Well sometimes the right headlamp wouldn't work,it was bad connected.
Sound like warranty to me,they modified lights to get it licensed here.

If I see what you are paying for your engineoil,I can't believe we are talking about the same quality.
Like to have some reactions on the amount of engine-oil you can refill.
Can you add 7.0 liters/7.397 quarts or not?
4byFord mentioned this but what do you think.
TIA CJ

That is insane! I take mine to Jiffy Lube and spend about $40 U.S. dollars max for all of the following:
- 6 quarts of 5w30 oil
- oil fliter
-inspect and inflate tires
-vaccum truck and clean windows
- lube chasis
- refill windsheild washer fluid
- check air filter (I have the K&N)
and they also check all the fluids, brake, gear etc.

Maintenance is my middle name.
Franks (maintenance) beans :-)
Every 3,000 miles, it cost me $5.94 for 6 quarts of Castrol 5W30 motor oil and $2.25 for a Motorcraft oil filter. Total cost is $8.19. I drive at least 18,000 miles per year, so my annual maintenance cost (oil and filter) is $49.14
There are several tire/gas shops that will accept your used oil too.
COSTCO (same kind of company as SAMS on the East coast) has a lifetime Road Hazard, tire rotation, balancing and checks tire pressure every 5,000 miles w/ every new set of 4 tires you buy.
Like many of us, I check and service my own oil, tranny, brake, coolent, pwr steering, rear diff oil, and window washer levels, so I am saving lots-o-money doing it myself.

Dave,
Thanks for your offer.
I have never done maintenance myself and I won't do that myself in the future either.
But for other things, that might be interesting.
Really astonishing:I am paying more $$$ for 1 quart then you guys for 6 quarts engine oil.
Thanks again.

And I thought my tax rate of 13% was high :-)
Wow 17.5%!!
I try to do as much maintenance as I can, but since I live in an apartment, it's not much. But I do know I save a lot of money doing things myself.
I pay $6.97 CDN for each litre of oil (Mobil1 5W30), and about $5 CDN for the oil filter. I also paid $65 CDN for my K&N filter.
