How does a Recall work?
i just went to the ford website and entered my vin number and it came back with Zero recalls
Do they track the cars that have already had the recall done by the VIN number and thats why nothing shows up?
or does my truck just not have any recalls ATM?

Recalls can be a headache. Some of the recalls are on a time limited basis and the owners may never know there was a recall. The pealing clear coat on the late 90's Fords come to mind on that one. Some of the recalls are mailed out and when the repairs are complete, the dealer puts the info into Fords database. Then there are the TSBs which a lot of folks like to think of as recalls. Considering that you show a 2002 truck, there won't be a recall unless it is Gov't mandated. It's just too old and these units are known to have tons of miles on them already. If you want the recalls and the TSBs, go to alldata and take a look at them. They won't show the details, you have to pay to see the details, but you get an idea of how many and when.

Ford maintains a database of what vehicles have what recalls and when (if) they were done via the VIN.
