True but you also can't argue that Glock has one of the most extensive lines of aftermarket parts available for them.

I understand the glock has a huge aftermarket, but pretty much anything you want for an xd can be found also. Don't get me wrong I really like glock I would like to own one in the future, but they just really aren't ahead of most of other polymer pistols anymore especially the xd. Having said that you really can't go wrong with a glock or xd, they are both great guns and will provide years and years of service with little or no problems. There were two big differences for me one is the warranty, glock has an official 1 year warranty unless the gun is modified then there is no warranty, however glock is very good about if the gun is not modified fixing it for free for ever. Springfield has a 100% lifetime warranty unless it is modified then the warranty is void. However if you have the modifications done by Springfield the pistol and modification is 100% covered for life. I had custom trigger work done by Springfield, it was fast and very good quality and is covered for life no questions asked like the rest of the pistol. The second difference was price, my xd 40 service model with holster mag holder 2 mags and a mag loader cost me 410$ out the door, a comparable glock is around 515$ without the accessories.

If you guys want post ban AR-15's better get one soon. Osama wants a "permanent assault weapons ban." It's on the whitehouse.gov website.

The erasing of the 2nd begins....

I like the way the XD(M) feels, but to me its not worth the extra price. I wouldnt trade my 4" service model away.

Both great guns, the main differences of the xd m are the grip is more textured, the 40 s&w will hold 15+1 instead of 12+1, you don't have to pull the trigger to field strip it, and the biggest difference is it has a match grade barrel which is unheard of in a standard production pistol. So it will be a little more accurate and hold a few more rounds and it feels a little different in your hand. The regular xd doesn't have an accuracy problem (I can regularly hit a 6x6 plate from 35yds) and the way I look at it is if I need more than 13rds I will take a bigger gun. So really it comes down to which one feels better to you and if its the xdm is it worth the extra price. I would suggest finding a range that will rent them to you and trying both out and seeing which one you like better.

Between the Glock and Springfield it is just all about which one fits better in your hand. Personally the Glock just fit in my hand better, but I do pick up an XD at every gun show I go to and have shot an XD40SC. I may get one in the future who knows.
