Angry Gas Ripoff !

We are getting charged for something we aren't getting.
At the gas pump before I turn it on there is no gas in the hose. After I turn the pump on the hose fills up and the numbers spin. When I stop pumping at the handle, there is gas in the hose I am paying for. When I turn the pump off, the gas is sucked back into the pump and the hose is empty again so the next customer can't benefit from gas paid for by the last customer.

There is only one way to reduce this RIPOFF!
Only go to stations with short hoses,
even if you have to put one tire up on the island.
When I see these stations with extra long hoses for 'customer convienence' it makes me furious!

I'm no fuel pump tech, but I would imagine there's a check valve somewhere in the line to keep the fluid from running backwards, otherwise it would be pretty easy to sabatoge a gas station's tanks.
