30K and its all over!
Hey JSCOTT,
I'm sorry to hear about your truck, although on the brighter side....nothing major!
I completely side with Indyfan and believe if there's a problem that one or a few of us members have. We should be "RESPECTFUL" and give some advice or caring words. It's not my site, but that's what I've felt all along! A site for F-150 enthusiasts to enjoy their trucks.
As far as some....I think they still wear a "BiB" and are "SPOILED"! Especially if they come from Beverly Hills or that 90210 CRAP! Either their a BRAT or they've had everything handed to them.... REAL MEN! Have no cares in the world. If that's not the case, perhaps a REAL DORK, that enjoys the show.... go figure!
I'm in this site to help my fellow F-150 Online members or gain knowledge. It seems to me that some are on this site to "bash" members for no reason because their experiencing something that's important to them and getting ridiculed for it!
I know right now I'm not much better, but it chaps my A$$ to see some people making fun of others because their going through a bad time and feel down! REMEMBER, what goes around.... comes around! But, WAIT.... I'm sure you'll have someone else take care of that, when it happens.... GROW UP and enter the real world! Where people work and take pride in what they own!!!!
Sorry JSCOTT for the long post and harsh words, but I can relate. If I was going through what you are, I'd feel he same way. Just remember to think positive and soon you'll look back on this and everything on your truck will be just fine.... just takes a little bit of time! Good Luck and Best Wishes.
P.S. If you EARNED your truck without any help, perhaps you should learn how to respect people! Never know.... one day you may loose it, and you may need a kind word from someone.
Eventhough you're "VAIN", there's no reason to be an A$$ ____! You should try to grow up and keep someone from wiping the snot off your nose! Sounds to me like you're a PUNK with no regards for other peoples feelings! Now I see why people could hate you. Nothing but a punk A$$!
P.SS. Sorry Steve for the harsh words. I truly do enjoy your site and have the upmost respect for it. Just feel that some peoples blatant responses are un-called-for.

No.... I'm in the part of "RESPECT" people!
I don't wanna have ill feelings towards you Ford Man. Just asking for you to have a bit of compassion for your fellow members when they feel down!
Obviously, we're going to feel down when our trucks is causing problems.... for most of us at least.
Not that JSCOTT can't handle his own problems, but it PI$$E$$ me off to know that some members aren't the least bit compassionate to a fellow member! After all, you signed on as someone who enjoys or takes great pride of their Ford F-150 and corresponding to your fellow members the same way.... would seem to me as an appropriate action. I would think perhaps you would want to be treated or have the same respect given to you, that most members would appreciate, if you had a problem with your truck. But, let me take a guess.... your truck would never have problems, right?
Not to say you can't speak your mind.... but you also have to realize that some members may get some misfortunate mishaps.... ie. getting a new truck with problems or having alot of problems from the gitty-up!
It all goes back to caring about your fellow man/woman! Be appreciative for what you have, BUT be understanding for other peoples misfortunes.... if they should happen to occur!
I do feel bad for what I've stated previously about you, but those kinds of statements are uncalled for.... truly! You can voice your opinions, but what does that say for you, to nock someone down when they're already feeling that way. I don't know you personally, but what you posted was clearly uncalled for!
If you feel the same way, drop me a line.... I'LL BE THERE!
It's obvious, the type of person you are. Just want you to know, in life.... there's ALWAYS someone BIGGER and BETTER! I do believe that it's good to have confidence, BUT.... don't let it rule your life!

I don't guess you and I will be exchanging Christmas cards this year, huh? Another tip: I don't really live in Beverly Hills 90210, it's only make believe on television (the Bionic Man wasn't real either). Sorry.
I appreciate those who took the time to reply. Yes, I was venting, but I do not think that I should be having problem this early on. If this is the norm, than Ford still has ALOT of catch up to do. This is where the Tundra will shine. I previously had a 92 Grand Am that was a lemon. I lived with that car for 6 years and 90K. Nothing extremely major ever broke, but it was something all the time. With my truck, I was really looking forward to not having these kinds of problems. I can only hope that they will not start now. I take excellent car of my truck, and it is not exactly worked hard.
Please do not use this thread to argue about being spoiled, etc. That is not what it is for.
As far as the seats are concerned, both my driver and passenger seats (cloth captains chairs) squeak when I get in and out. I only weigh 150lbs, so they shouldn't be doing it. I had the driver seat inside replaced once, and the dealer totally screwed it up. The seat was not tightened down to the frame (real safe) and I found "extra" bolts laying inside the truck. I actually had to finish the job myself. With this in mind, I cancelled my appt. for the passenger seat. I don't want the same guy doing the same work on the other side.
I am going to take it in next week and try to get all this stuff done. Will let everybody know how it goes.
Sorry for the long post.....

Ok, let's try a little exercise. Ford Man you say three things you like about Lariat Rider and Lariat Rider you say three things you like about Ford Man....

Things I Like About Lariat Ryder:
- I like the way he freaks out (he probably has veins bulging out of his forehead)
- I like his very keen wit and intelligence (he was able to read in all of the little things to decide that 90210 is a real place)
- He has a very broad vocabulary (i.e., "punk ***")
Maybe you should have gotten an older model. My '93 is solid as hell. As for the tundra... initial quality may be high (if ride comfort and acceleration are what you like in trucks) but I bet you won't see one on the road in 10 years and you'll certainly never see one doing real work.
JSCOTT,
What dealer do you use for your repairs? Sounds like I should avoid their service department, if your experience speaks for it. I've used Middlekauf in Plano before and they were okay.
As for "falling apart," mine's a '98 (purchased 11/97) with 21k miles. It's got the door crack, roof paint cracks in the gutters, various squeaks and rattles (including the driver's seat). The odometer took a holiday at 15k (since fixed).
The 4.6 Triton runs like a bat out of hell, and sounds sweet with a cherry bomb muffler. The body style is great and draws compliments from onlookers occasionally. With the Edelbrocks, the ride and handling is better than stock. The Superchip is indeed super. And the throaty roar from the Airaid when I get on the gas....yeah! Not a bad balance of pros and cons for a truck.
I like it and am not worried it's going to disintegrate into shambles at the end of my warranty. It's definitely a long-term keeper.
Good luck with your repairs.

Future Mods:
a)Limited slip
b)Running Boards

I think the majority of the complaints presented are petty. Your pickup rattles? So what?! There're a lot of people who don't even have a vehicle. Big deal!! Having a safe and reliable vehicle's a helluva lot more important than all of the piddly *** stuff. "My pickup sqeaks. My pickup smells funny, etc." (Done in a mocking, whiny voice). WAAAH!!! If that's all I had to **** and moan about, I wouldn't even waste a minute of my precious time. If it bothers you that much, sell it and ride the bus. Hate to break it to you: ALL cars and trucks wear out and develop squeaks and rattles. Mine's paid for, so I don't have those kinds of bitches. Get my drift?
Ford Man
I have finally read nearly every post on this website and I see at least on consistancy other than F150 talk here. YOU, BUSTING EVERYONE'S CHOPS. I've posted on BBS's for a long time (since commodore 64, 300 baud days) and people like you discourage other people from posting thus limiting information available to the rest of us. I guess your mom didn't teach you; "if you can't say something nice then keep your damn mouth shut."
You're not so bright either, who cares if your truck is paid for. At 5.9%, I'll finance what I can, JANUS is returning over 30% these days, which gives me nearly 30% return on a ~$25,200.00 investment. Other posts you've claimed to rather have the money working for you, doesn't seem to be the case here though.
JSCOTT-
When it rains.... At least your still covered. I've owned ford trucks up to 160K with no squeaks, rattles, etc.(other than maintenance items) Hence, the reason I keep buying them.
Good Luck and don't let the people here get you down, take the info avail and ignor the crap.

If you are as fiscally and financially wise as you purport, why not take out a second mortgage or home equity loan (tax deductible, Holmes) and finance your vehicle that away? Invest your cash money in JANUS like that. OH YEAH, I'LL BE DAMNED.
