Does 7700 package include Class 3 Hitch???
I am getting ready to order F150 SC 4x4 with the 7700 payload package....I know this includes 7 lug wheels, heavy duty cooling and electrical system, bigger front brakes, etc... Does the 7700 package include a Class 3 hitch and wiring harness??? Or is there a discounted price for ordering the Class 3 hitch with the 7700 package? I ask this because the trailer towing package for standard F150 includes the price of the heavy duty cooling and electrical system which is already included with the 7700 option. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I think it probably would if you order it with the Trailer package. One thing you can do is go to the ford site and "build" your truck, look there.

The credit for the alternator originates because it comes in both the 7700 package and again in the towing package. And there is no room for two on a gas engine. Most of these credits are from something that is duplicated in another package chosen.
In the F150 7700, if you get the towing package,it comes with the class III frame hitch and 7 pin wiring. But you will have to get the reciever bar, ball and hook that wiring up to a brake controller battery charger etc. yourself depanding on your needs.
IN compairison the Super Duty towing package does not come with the hitch. It is $150 extra but the coresponding package is cheaper. This is because they asume some will pull fifth wheel trainers with these and not need a frame hitch. A 7700 could pull a small fifth wheel but usually anyone wanting to pull one goes up to a Super Duty.
JRO1, I am also thinking about ordering a 7700. Can you share what you are learning about priceing and such? Also look over at the Super Duty forum. I am working a thread on this trying to chose between a 250SD and a 7700. Could use your input.

I picked up my 2000XL F150 with the 7700 payload package last Saturday. It did not come with the tow package. It was available at $340 invoice, $400 MSRP. Since the 7700 package included the HD electrical and cooling pkg, HD springs and shocks, stiffer frame, I felt I was paying for those options twice. I did not feel it was a good deal. I can a decent class IV hitch at a local auto parts store for $120 and a 7 pin wiring harness for $20. Off course I would have to install these myself.
I ordered my 2000 F150/7700 4x4 SC today, here is what I could figure out for the pricing as related to the trailer tow package; my order sheet showed an invoice price of $340 for the trailer towing package (option 535)in addition to the $1101 charge for the 7700 payload package (option 627). I also ordered the optional 600 watt engine block heater (option 41H, $77 invoice). I received a credit of $55 for the heavy duty alternator and I believe I also received a manufacturer's discount on the trailer towing package of around $48 since it was ordered in conjuction with the engine block heater. Additionally I believe I received a credit of $90 to offset the charge of the heavy duty electrical/cooling system upgrade that is standard on the 7700 package and part of the trailer towing group. Basically it seems like the equipment that comes standard with the 7700 payload package was credited when figuring in the price of the trailer towing package. The options and pricing could definitely be made clearer to F150 buyers regarding this 7700 package, all of the websites I checked out only confused the issue and did not seem to offer much information regarding the payload package. In the big picture it is only a few hundred bucks I am talking about on a $30K+ truck but I do not like to give the dealership the opportunity to screw me out of my money. I ordered the truck for invoice cost and did not pay any document fee (after threatening to walk out they agreed to drop the DOC fee).
I ended up ordering a 4x4 Supercab XLT in solid bright red with tan interior, 5.4, auto, captain's chairs, remote entry, with all HD options. I also have a new set of 285/75/16 tires that are going on the truck the day that it gets delivered. The one option I decided to skip is the factory CD since I already have my own high performance car stereo gear from my previous F150.
This truck will be my personal transportation as well as a snowmobile hauler. We will be hooking up a 24' V-Nose 4 place enclosed Haulmark sled trailer which can put a real strain on many tow vehicles. My brother-in-law has towed this particular trailer for the past winter with his 2000 Silverado 4x4 SC with the 6.0 V8, I have noticed that even with the big 6.0 GM motor the truck seems to have to be "revved" to make any power while hauling the trailer and sleds. The GM is also a major gas hog. I fell pretty confident that my new F150/7700 will do better job with this same trailer.
I felt for the extra $1100 that the payload package was well worth the money....I would love to hear how other's F150/7700 or F250/LD trucks have held up for towing and general use.
