I would have gotten the keyless entry. We have it on our car, and I really like it.

Heh, thanks to hanging around this board for awhile before I ordered my 2000, I got everything that I wanted. The only thing I don't have is 4wd, but that was a money/need issue.

btr,

If you want a keyless entry system check into an after-market alarm system.

I like pressing a button on the keychain to unlock the door and not having to carefully unlock with the key. It would also definately pay for itself the first time you lock the keys in the truck.

I wish I could have spec'd the leather-wrapped steering wheel separately on my XLT. It was a cheap, separate option way back when I ordered my base Taurus L wagon in '89 and I still love the feel of it. Other than that, I'm happy with what I've got.

By the way, nice rig, Vocaire!!

For those who lust for a bigger engine, I was reading a front-page newspaper story today in Ottawa that predicts $1-a-litre gas soon, and for a long time to come. That's about $2.75 or $3 US for a US gallon, I figure. If that's the case, I wouldn't change my engine-tranny package.

Mind you, if I could walk in and plunk down the cash for a Lightning (which I can't), I might make the jump to a 5.4, but only if the Lightning came in the SuperCrew-----ya, I know, I don't ask for much.

Black 2000 SC XLT short-box. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 Limited Slip. Side steps, CD, remote entry, FORD box liner. Add-ons: Older Windstar driver's side wiper blade (with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains), back-up beeper, "f150online.com" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.

My third F-series: '73 F-100, '98 F-150 and '00 F-150. Great trucks!

I would give anything if I could go back and order the 5.4L, Auto, and cruise control. As a student I was on a very limited budget and couldn't find an XL on the lot with anything bigger under the hood. Just haven't been too happy with the 4.2, and not b/c of power. Auto would increase towing capacity 3-fold. And I could've almost paid for the cruise control with the 2 speeding tickets I have gotten as a result of not having it.

I ordered mine precisely so I wouldn't ask myself or wonder if I should've done this or that. I guess my answer to the question is NO!!

Shifter, thanks
It's funny, because I ordered the sport package really only because I wanted the 4wd front end (I think it looks alot more aggressive). But, now that I have it, the leather wrapped steering wheel and the BFG tires are the real reason's that I like it. I don't honestly understand why Ford isn't pushing the sport package, it really finishes the truck off.
