They have no worries. The union will protect them. I mean, that is what they are paying union dues for right?

More than likely these are some kind of maintenance guys. I see it over and over again maintenance workers sitting around playing cards, sleeping, or what ever cause there is not always work to be done. It just shows the mismanagement of employee's letting them get away with this type of activity. It's frustrating to see this but the system in place lets them get away with this.

Do you justify take hours for lunch when it is only supposed to 1/2 hour and getting paid close the $30/hr to drink?

who ever said they were clocked in? not saying its right, i sure hope they were not clocked in and since nothing to do they went out to the bar. i cant image people who are in an industry that has laid off so many assembly line workers to do that every day so i believe there is more to the story....

You talk like getting laid off is a bad thing for them. It's like a paid vacation. For up to 2 years they draw 95% of their normal pay while laid off.

Besides, even if they are off the clock while at the bar, they go back to the plant after drinking for 4 hours.

Sorry.. it isn't that simple in a union shop. They are required to be on the clock unless they use sick pay or vacation. They can not continually come ad go to the plant durring the day to work when they want to. They were in violation of company and union rules. No matter what there job at the plant is.
