Ranger Tows More than F150 ?
I don't belive it but a V6 ranger will outtow an V6 F150.
Here it is straight from the Ford website:

BUT a V6 Ranger cost as much as a V6 F150 also.

It also takes as much fuel as the F150. I guess it comes to choice, the Ranger is easier to park and fits in smaller garages than the full size. I choose my used F-150 to a new 1999 Ranger 4x4 V6 because I'd rather the looks of a F150 than those of the Ranger. When I had my (new) 1997 Ranger Rebel, people were asking me when I'll be old enough to own a full size.

I think they're being misleading. It appears they've used the GCWR rather than the max trailer weight. If that were true, it would also best some 4.6L F150s and be very close to some 5.4Ls. For example, a regular cab F150 with a 4.6L and 3.08 rear end has a max trailer weight of 5800 lbs. and a regular cab 5.4L with a 3.08 rear has a max trailer weight of 6500 lbs. Their GCWR, however, are 10000 lbs. and 11000 lbs. respectively. A 4.6L 4X4 with 3.55 gears and an automatic has a max trailer weight of 6800 pounds and a 4X4 5.4L automatic with a 3.08 rear end has amax trailer weight of 6000 lbs. Gotta take ads for what they are, BS.
Didn't DODGE recently say something similar about their Dakota(?) being able to tow an incredible amount...only to be forced to retract that claim and drastically reduce its rated towing capacity?!?!?!
I know I read it on here many months ago...a few owners were not so happy!

Ford Man, according to the owner's manual, if you have a manual trans. you can actually tow *more* with the v6 than with the 4.6L, I thought that that was pretty interesting (granted, when you put the auto in, the 4.6 will definetely out tow the 4.2) considering that I opted for the v6 (finacially based reasons) and had to have the manual... I am glad that I didn't get the 4.6

A 3.55 automatic V6 is rated to tow the same as a 3.08 4.6L. When they're geared the same, the 4.6L is only rated 1000 to 1400 pounds higher (both 3.08 and 3.55 rear ends).

Granpa you are right advertising is great, a few weeks back i towed my friends semi that broke down on the road it weighs approx 28,000 lbs my truck pulled it no problem in 4wh low i would not want to do it on a regular basis though. I would have made a good comerical though it walked right away with it. i pulled it along at about 45 mph with to much problems you had no doubt that you where pulling somthing though. Maybe you could pull it but it would be a rough pull, what they dont tell you is how far they pulled it or how fast .

Not relevant what you found, 54regcab. I don't care what a Ranger tows because I don't fit in a Ranger (too tall) and neither does my family (4 kids plus the Ms.).
It's size that matters. Right ATST? Right Raoul?

Yeah, I have a hard time beliving a Ranger can pull 6,000 lbs and my F150 can only pull 2,300 more.
