Question Whats near Texas Motor Speedway?

Thinking about going to Texas Speedway for the april race. My wife will only go if there are other tourist spots to go see / do (not malls) when we are not at the track - friday and saturday. Please help me so I can go see a race at a speedway besides Atlanta.

The best thing closest to the speedway is the historic Fort Worth Stock Yards. I know it doesn't sound like much, but there's more there than one might think. Just wait till you see some Texas women there in tight jeans and boot!! It doesn't get any better!

Darin,

The Speedway is kinda out in the boonies right now, north of Forth Worth on I-35W. Ft. Worth has a great restaurant near the Stockyards, Joe T. Garcias. It's Mexican, bring cash, that's all they take. But it's incredible.
The Ft. Worth Zoo is good, and so are the musueums and botanical gardens. And the water gardens downtown are worth a look.
To the east, there's Six Flags over Texas, the Ballpark at Arlington where the Texas Rangers play, and a water park. If you have kids, all these places are great for them.

Hope this helps....
