New from Ft Worth Texas area

Checking in here . Lifetime Ford Fan. Have owened numerous Ford thur my driving years. Am a memeber on several Ford fourms. I currently own a '69 Ford F-100 Flareside(stepper). It has been disassembled for a number of years . Looks like somone puked old ford parts all over my garage.
Recently purchased an '06 Texas Edition Supercrew, with a tick over 29k on the odo.. It's semi loaded but not stacked.
Here's where the questions begin. We purchased it used from a local dealer(non Ford). The salesman was great at getting us into it for what we could afford. but that's about it. We were furnished 1 key . i'm going to assume these are chipped and if so I understand the second can be costly. If I have a blank cut can it be programmed outside the dealer with only one active key.
Also the truck has a keyless entry pad on the drivers door, again I assume that fobs can be used. And how does one go about getting the access code for the keyless entry.
I know this long so I'll stop for now until I can remember other questions I was going to post.
Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site! Be sure and get some images posted up.

I believe you have to go to the dealer to get the key programmed. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Welcome! On the keyless entry or keypad. There was a card that came tucked in the manual with a 5 digit code. Usually, dealers removed it if you did not have the keypad. That code is on a label stuck to the security module, the module is behind the back of the rear seat. The rear seat is a pain to remove.

Buy the keys online(ebay or other) then i believe it's only a put key in, turn to on but no start wait for the PATS light to go solid or off then do the next key. Keypad info should be behind the back seat on tha cab wall on a black box with a 5 digit code from the factory then you can change to what you want it to be.

That works if you already have at least 2 keys and your setting up a third one.

I remember when i had to have my key put in my alarm i only had my 1 key and bought another(ebay) for the installer to put under the dash and that was the same way to program them?

I've not done it, just passing on what I read here.

yes door pad code is behind rear seat

and yes you can only program your own key if you already have two working keys.

Welcome from another texas member

Hey all thanks for the wonderful welcome.
Got fobs and got them programmed. Still haven't pulled the seat to get the door pad code .Oh well with the fobs don't really need them at the present. Still need to get a duplicate and spare key, have a friend that will cut 1 blank and program it for $75.00 which I think is a fair price?? I posted pics in my gallery try to link it here.https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...supercrew.html Hope it works. Still making a punch list (wants/ needs)Funny how some of the wants out weigh the needs in thought . Gotta figure out how to get more sound out of the stock system with out spending a ton.
Got tons of questions for other areas.

Thanks again

we welcome "molly" aboard too :D

75 bucks should be cheaper. we charge 1/2 hour labor for program through the dealership, and parts dept cuts the key....
