Victorys and defeats - Neal, you may like this!
Ever since I changed the exhaust on my truck, my wife and I have noticed something interesting.
The kids inthe neighborhood love to rev thier engines when they pass our house. Specifically two teenagers, one with a late model camaro, the other with a Trans Am.
On my way home last week I noticed tha I had passed the camaro on the highway, in heavy traffic. Watching in my mirror, I noticed that he was attempting to catch up with me.
After about 4 miles of this, he finally did and continued to pass me (four lane highway) and then let me pass him, no race, just for looks.
A couple of miles fromthe house, we ended up side by side at a red light.
Needless to say, I only have one teenager reviing his engine now, the camaro driver just looks the other way!
Back to the story: When the light turned green, I took off in normal fashion, slow and easy. So did he, but as I accelerated, he did too. At that point, I realized we were wanting to race. I floored it at the same time he did and stuck side by side with him for a few hundred yards of accelerating. By this time I had backed off the accelerator but was still with him.
When I realized that this was all he had, I again floored it and easily left him behind!
I don't know what he has under the hood, but the exhaust signature "sounds" good.
He no longer revs his engine when he gets by my house, but I'll leave his friend alone until Neal comes to town.

I've been reading the Victorys and Defeats threads for a long time but only today have had the opportunity to submit one more victory for the Ford truck crowd.
I work with a guy that has a 98 Nissan Maxima (3.0 V-6 5-speed). He's always talking about the cars he beats off the line and how fast his 'high performance engine' is. I listen and smile.
Today he and I happen to line up at a light in front of a clear stretch of straight level road. I announce to my three passengers that someone's about to get spanked. The light changes and he peels out, I stomp on it. We stayed neck and neck for almost a quarter mile where we hit the next light. He motioned for me to roll down the window. Tells me, "Not bad for a truck." I point out to him that it's actually a truck - with 4 big guys in it....
The look on his face was priceless.... Spanked!

Thanks guys.
Dirt Bike Dave - You may be right, but that would be out of character for him. He is forever trying to outdo me. Lucky for me that I'm having a battle of wits with an unarmed person.
Spyder207 - would you believe plain ol' Krylon? The color match is really close. I just scrubbed it with a scuff pad and 'Simple Green', shot the paint and did the lettering using a paint pen. One word of warning - do not use a new (full) paint pen unless you like runs!

Here's one you Ford guys will like.
Well, I was coming home from a night of *** stompin when I get lined up with a 2000 Ext Cab Chevy with a 5.3. He hears my exhaust and motions for me to roll down the window. I do it, and he says nice truck, yada yada, ......YOU WANNA RACE? I'm like MR. you are gonna get killed. He says, "Well, mine has 15 more HP than your 99 and I think it will be a good race." I said, "Prepare to be embarrased." His girlfriend was riding with him and my nieghbor with me. Jesus!, by the time I get out of first I have 4 legnths on him and pulling away hard, so I let off immediately. No wonder some of you 4.6 guys hang with the Ext Cabs. We get to the next light and he was cool about it. Girlfriend just smiles real big. I give her a wink and drive home.
Earlier that night, I'll exclude the Fords, two RT's and a pretty quick SS/T go down hard.
