Hope to gain some insight. My 1997 F150 is getting up there in age, so recently when I had an opportnity to, I purcahsed a 2004 F150 (have entire truck intact) with only 38,000 miles. However the body and interior had been badly damaged rendering the vehicle useless. My plans were to swap the motor and transmission. I've done some research and understand that the ignition system is not the same.
Other than the obvious (motor and tranny). What else will I need to salvage from my 2004 and install in my 1997? I'm hopeing to bring new life into an old friend if possible.

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.
