Chiropractor - Anyone ever been to see one?

I made my first appointment today. I have had lower back pain for about a month from moving heavy items, we're in the process of moving.

Anyway, I have had problems before but I had always gone to the doctor. Before though, the pain would be much worse and usually go away inside of a week. He would usually load me up on vicodine, I'd take then for a few days as needed and all would be well shortly after. However, this time the pain is tolerable but it has been going on for about a month. It's not the sharp pain that I had experienced before and then went away. This hurts less, but just won't seem to get better.

So, I wanted to see what your opinions were. Has anyone experienced these same symptoms and have you seen a chiropractor? Did it help?

I go to one every six weeks and when I do something dumb throw my back out. I have been in the same situation and will never put my self there again when I can prevent it with going to a Chiropractor.

Hey buddy - Moving to Romeo (you probably know where that's at, just north of Rochester and Sterling Heights), moving out of Whitmore Lake (just north of Ann Arbor).

My father passed away about 2 months ago and all my family (and my wife's family) is out that way sort of. I bought his old house off of my brother and sisters. Right now in Whitmore Lake, we're a good hour to hour and a half away from everyone. Plus, we want to send our kids through a better school system also. It just kind of happened. Crazy thing is, once word got around town that we were thinking about moving, I had 3 people want to see our house before we listed it. Within a week, we had an offer. Which still blows my mind in today's economy, especially in MI. Oh well, the paperwork is signed and we're good to go. Our move date is Feb 1st... So I've been scrambling to get things in order, hence me messin' up the back.

Sorry to hear about your father

That's great that you were able to get your house sold so fast, that's a major stress reliever - something I'm sure you and your family didn't need on top of the passing of your father.

Sounds like you'll be moving to a nice area and I'm sure it will be nice to be closer to the rest of your family. Good luck with everything

The most important thing is to relax.
Take a zanex, if you have one.

Thanks. Now I just need to find a job that's closer. Although I can work from home 2 days a week, so a 90 commute to work and 90 minute commute back won't be too bad 3 days a week. I just hope gas stays low for little while anyway.

Hey me too! 2:00 pm.

I have a standing appointment every 2 months for an adjustment. I have a vertebra in between my shoulder blades that slips out slowly over time so the 2 months deal works great. It makes you feel so much better after an adjustment. Plus the cracking and popping kind of freaks you out.
