Talking drag race chevy who has done? did you win?

My guy next door to me has a new 2000 chevy with the 5.3 ( i think) any ways it's the 15oo extended cab short box 4x4 just like my truck he was telling me how much faster that his truck was then mine. He said he read a article in road and track that his was like a 1/2 sec faster in the 1/4 mile than mine...... well all you can do is race well his is not faster, i won by about 2 truck legnths, and he had 3.73 gears to my 3.55's.

So........ the question is, is this the norm or is his truck slow??

please no lecture's on racing thank you.

I used to race any pre-vortec era's...Until my dad got his, now I don't want to embarrass myself...My little 302 can take a 305, but I stay away from 350's and 454's...

Cool

I 'raced' a 99 Chevy Z71 extended cab..only after he took off from an interesection and quickly pulled 3-4 truck lengths on me.

I kept my foot on the floor and honestly thought that I had no chance with such a jump..however...I caught him and blew by him. He would not even look over at me at the next light. I think he was shocked that I even caught up with him.

Tough break for him. I bet he will think twice about doing that with a FORD next time...hahahahaha

I had a late model Silverado next to me at a light. The roads were wet and I didn't want to spin the wheels. I was trying to race him while not letting my wife know what I was doing, but she figured it out and said, "What in the h*ll do you think you're doing? You do know that this is the last truck you're ever going to get."

I would have blown his doors off but, I was carrying an extra 285 pounds.

Hey, I was just wondering if any of you have raced a Dakota RT. I raced a 2000 Chevy Reg 5.3 that was bone stock. I guess he heard my exhaust and wanted to see what I had. Less than a quarter of a mile later he was around 8 legnths or so back. Its hard to tell looking in the mirror. At any rate, nice kills for your Fords.
