Has anyone had this problem. When my 97 F150 with a 4.6 sits out in the cold (below freezing) over night and than I go to start it I get a loud cherp noise just before the starter motor engages. It will only do it when it is cold and it is a single cherp. It sounds like an alarm is shutting of but I do not have an alarm in the truck. If I remove the starter fuse and than try it it will not cherp. I know it is in the starter circut some were. The dealer has not been able to find the proble. Can anyone help me out. It only does it when cold and pre start.
