I paid the price for not opening the tail gate
Today I rented a Rug Doctor to clean my carpet from Home Depot. I had the vacuum in one hand and a bag of crap in the other, and I guess I was too lasy to open the tail gate, so with one hand I "tried" to lift the vacuum into the bed, but slammed it into the side of my truck instead. I know scratches and dents come with owning a truck, but this was my 1st one and I just wish it could have been a dent I could be proud of. Like, off-roading or hauling lumber, not a damn vacuum cleaner. Of coures the dent is on the driver side, so I can remember it every day.
I feel your pain!!
My first Truck (and new vehical ever) I was washing it using the wand at the "quarter" wash and being ever so meticulous. Well I never did this before, so I didn't know that the force I was using to direct the water spray at the side of the Truck, would make me actually hit the Truck with the wand when the time ran out and the pressure suddenly ended!!! OUCH! @#$%^&^%$#@$^&*&%#

Na, that's nothing !! Try changing lanes and after checking to make sure that no one has tried to slip in under you, you look ahead to find a k-car sitting there about 150 ft in front of you. What's even worse was I may be at fault for it because I didn't see him cut into my lane. Had 3 estimates done so far and they are saying around $2100 CDN damage to left front. What is even worse is all the damage is just minimal, few dents on bumper, signal light taken out, filler screwed (all mangled) and fender, a small ding, can be repaired. NOW THAT HURTS !! And to think we were headed to the Casnio with friends, would have taken loss at casino instead !! Oh well, could have been worse.

NSS at least you didn't back up onto the lawnmower like I did!! Isn't there some kind of kit or something that you can buy from the auto parts store to pull out those little annoying dents??? And scratch remover takes care of most everything else.
IzzyEddy: You should see the big ol blind spot created by my truck(ck sig). Look over shoulder, check mirror, look again and then I watch the mirror the whole time I'm merging over. I also have gone to wallmart and bought those little round blind spot mirrors for both my mirrors. You wouldn't believe the times I've looked over my shoulder and not seen anything but checked those mirrors and there's a little mini-car-thing right beside me. Scarry!!

Tina: Got those little round mirrors just after I bought the truck, had them on my '87 too and you said it, makes a big difference with these big, long trucks. Just wish I would have seen the k-car sooner, might have had a chance to stop. Oh well, lesson learned that day !!
