What would your dream 4x4 be?
My dream 4x4 would be a 1999 AM General Hummer Hard top 4 door, a dropped in 6.8 Liter, Vortech Supercharged V10, 4:10 gears,
The best winch money can buy, TorqTrac 4, ABS, raised 3 inches and bigger tires.
If I wanted something bigger,
2000 Ford F-350 Lariat, Crewcab, 4x4, 4:10 gears, Powerstroke Diesel with Banks Powerpack, Extreme Superchip, the best Winch money can buy, raised 3 inches, huge tires...
You?

I think I would have to go with a F250, black, regular cab shortbed, supercharged V10, 4.56 LS gears, 4" suspension lift, 35" tires, bull gaurd , double - double chrome roll bar and who could forget the massive winch
Only problem is that it wouldn't fit it my garage which would create a whole new post - dream house! So - dream truck - see profile below

Actually if I could add a 8" lift ( 6" suspension and 2" body) with some 40" boggers, then my truck would be my dream truck. But since I can not get a lift then my dream truck would be a Military Hummer with all the goodies. Maybe I could get to keep the machine gun on top, oh well, it's a thought.

Can't narrow it down to just one so here goes. Take my '98 F150 4x4 ORP regular cab w/5.4 add Superlift 4.5 inch lift, Rancho 9000's, 4.10's front and rear, front locker, Weld Typhoons w/Interco 35/14.5's, Warn hid-a-winch reciever that fits inside front bumper so I can switch the winch. Now add an Eaton blower, K&N, and a smooth sounding exhaust. Or a F350 regular cab XL w/PSD and Banks Powerpack, 6-speed, and manual T-case, 4.56 gears w/lockers, 8 inch lift, Interco Bogger 38/18's on Welds, and don't forget 2 huge winches. Or of course a butt ugly, meaner than crap, stripped down Hummer, take GM's excuse for a diesel out and replace with PSD or Cummins. Yes I do think about this too much. Just a note of humor, the other day I saw a minivan (a new style, don't know what make) it had 44's staight axles and the floorboard was about as high as the bottom of my window. I was speechless.
Ultimate 4X4? Piece of cake -- Take a Lightning and add 4WD to it, but keep it the same height or a about 1 inch lower. No wheel spin on launch just some serious slam your *** in the seat power.

If I ever had the need for a 4x4 then I think it would have to be a late seventies Jeep CJ-5 with a 304 V-8. I had a friend with one of those and it would go through everything, it was even full-time 4x4.
Or an old Toyota Land Cruiser would do.

Ultimate 4x4? My truck with a Dana 60 solid front axle grafted in. Dana 60 rear with disc brakes. 5.13 gears and ARB lockers front and rear, 44" Boggers, An Eaton Blower on my 5.4l, Roll bar and brush guard with 14 KC Daylighters.
A Hummer would be my choice for a serious 4x4. I've never seen one in a ditch on its roof after the first snow of the season.
