So the hippie movement of the young generation is scoffing at cars.. causing serious downturns of sales in Japan. The one comment that burned me up in the article is " Americans, after all, are expected to start buying cars again - eventually - partly because of the inadequacy of mass transit there." Never mind the 3000 miles coast to coast. And the cities that where built west where well establihed before they thought of things like subways here. I mean can you see putting a subway system like New Yorks in Seattle? Not to mention the over all population doesn't want mass transit.
