The CBC [Canadian Broadcasting Network] did a test on HDMI cables. Monster cable, mid range cable and the cheapest they could find. All tested exactly the same. The info in was the same as the info out on all. I didn't hear if connections such as gold or whatever would last longer though. Don't spend the extra as you won't see it in the final product. They are all great.
