Cool Article about basic mods on a 5.4L

I just read this article in Peterson's 4Wheel & Off-Road Feb. 2000 about three common bolt on upgrades. They installed a Gibson Cat-back, K&N FIPK, and a Jet Chip in a 99' F150 5.4L auto. The Dyno test showed 241 peak HP stock, and 267 peak HP with all three mods. There are some pictures of all three being installed in the magazine. I wish the same was done with the Superchips instead of the Jet, since most of us have the Superchips.

That's a lot of $$$ for a little over 10% increase in HP.
The superchip alone is close to that but costs less.

The superchip does add a 10% increase in HP and 15% in torque. 247hp stock sounds kinda high to me.

That 241peak hp was at 5000rpms, that might be why its high.

Just picked up the mag, and yep, 241 and at 5000rpm! That shows Ford is the leader when getting it to the ground!
