Just got a new bike (pics)!!

Sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum.... couldn't really decide where to put this at. The only pic I've got right now is a crappy cell phone pic that doesn't do this bike justice. It's a 2009 Suzuki SV650SF. I've never owned a v-twin streetbike before so I'm hoping I'll like the engine. I wasn't looking for anything to rip and roar on -- just something that looks sporty and had lots of torque for normal driving. I just picked it up this afternoon so I haven't even had a chance to ride it yet! However I did manage to get my fender eliminator, integrated tail light, tank protector, and smoked windscreen installed tonight.

Nice bike!

Only thing I don't like about brand new bikes is having to break them in.

Thanks guys! My insurance won't be effective until tomorrow so I still can't ride it today. Oh well..... guess I'll just stare at it all day.

dexx..... that's a sweet bike in your sig!!

06yz250f..... Victory has came out with some super-cool looking bikes recently. Congrats to your dad for picking one up! The Jackpot is one of my favorite "cruiser" type bikes.

Nice bike! Those metric v-twins sound nice. Friend of mine has a yellow 2000 Honda Superhawk and it sounds amazing even with the stock exhaust.

Thanks again for the compliments guys. Here are a couple more pics I took today in the sunlight -- I think this is the first bit of sun I've seen in over a week!

excellent choice. love the full fairing sv's. There really is no break in period on new bikes. suzuki recommends one way, but you can ask several people and theres a ton of ways. I broke mine in by riding it how i would ride it normally. and its not giving me any issues at all. I have a 06 gsxr 600

if you want it loud, check out holeshot exhaust for it too. they sound amazing on a 1k, so im sure they sound good on a sv650. either that or the tried and tested yoshi that sounds awesome on all suzuki sportbikes....mine included

The SV650 is one of the best bikes for the money period. They are great for beginners and experts alike, and have great resale.

I have a DL-650 myself, which has the same engine as your bike, great machines.

I never liked the way those bikes looked, but with the farings they look great.

Be careful...one of my best friends was killed last week on his 2008 SV650S...same color as yours, but no fairing. He left behind a 7 year old son and a 5 year old daughter. We had taken our sons down to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham last fall for the WERA race and were planning on taking them to Indy this summer. I plan to take his son and my son to the MotoGP race in memory of him. I spoke at his funeral, and it was one of the toughest things I have ever done.

I hate to hear that and I am sorry for the loss. Was it a single-vehicle accident or was another driver involved? Most of the time it's the other people driving that you have to watch out for -- most people can't drive these days.
