I just have a lowely Packard Bell PII 350, 3 gig HD, 64k ram. It was pretty fast when I bought it last year. Now - about average!
I did just get the cable modem though. Man, it kicks the tail at of 56K dial-up. The message board goes zip and its up. Very nice.

Compaq Presario with 700mhz Athlon processor running on a 200mhz bus (my kids, the experts, say it runs faster than the 733 mhz PIII). 27 gig hd, 128 meg ram, CD-RW, 2 USB ports on front, 19 inch monitor...this system moves a lot of info really quick. For once, games move smoooooothly...no more herky, jerky flight sims!!!
