Anybody have an old Daisy BB gun?

My Brother uncovered our old Daisy BB gun's that were from back in the mid 50's. I have the Model 25 pump that still work's! He has the Eagle model 98with the lever. He suprised me yesterday and showed these to me that I hadn't seen in over 40 yrs. My late Dad bought these for us around 1956 or 1957. Just curious to see if anybody else still has one?

No, but i have the Mossberg 22 rifle my Mom and Dad gave me for my twelth BD in 1955. That's really neat. I had a Daisy, not sure what happened to it.

Bluejay, my Brother collect's pistol's,rifles and shotgun's. He still has the old Winchester slide action .22 we had back in the 50's. Also a Mossburg single shot bolt action .410 from the same era. He also has my Grandpa's 12 gauge Fox double barrel from around the 30's. Every kid I knew back then usually started with a Daisy and worked their way up to a Crossman or Benjamin pellet gun. Now they start with 9mm pistol's or AK-47's!

I got the one the kid in "A Christmas Story" got that would shoot his eye out. It was bought as a gag gift but am still waiting to fire it. Never seem to get around to it.

Some guy at work is selling an old 30.06 from the 60s. He inherited it. He doesn't think it has ever been fired. Old guns worth a lot of money, or do they have to be really old??

Sorry to hijack. Back on track though. Our Mom wouldn't let us get bb guns b/c she thought we would shoot each other. So instead, we would just trade stuff with the kids next doors for theirs, and hide them from Mom.

I do miss miss my Daisy Spittin Image model 1894. I set up a shotting range in my basement where I could recapture all the BBs and reuse them. Distance was the normal 15 to 20" for a BB gun. I used to use birthday candles and light them. Would shot out the flame without touching the candle itself. Just hit or go past the wick fast enough to put out the flame. Even shot a big old bumble bee out of the air one time with it. Lucky yes, but that little BB gun was very accurate for that type of gun.

My Mossburg is a bolt action with a 7 shot clip. I also inherited my Dad's Winchester semi-automatic. Has a tube that holds 17 shells. He got it in about 1950.

I have 2, one was my Dad's, it is easily 50-60 years old, not sure on model or age, though, but it is a Daisy, and I have a really old Red Rider, too.

I've got my Dad's old Red Rider. I should dig it up. It's a Lever Action, no compass or anything. I know it still works, it's got thousands of BB's through it. Brings back Memories!

My 8 year old Grandson want's to shoot my Crossman BB and pellet gun combo every time they come down here from Oklahoma. I have a brand new Daisy Red Ryder for him the next time they come down. My Daughter won't let Him take it up to their house because He shot my Son in Law in the azz with the padded BB gun I gave Him last year. I guess He's still a little young! I think training kid's with BB gun's at a young age will make them careful handling weapon's later in life if they go into the military or go for the great sport of hunting. The BB gun's we had as kid's certainly helped me out handling M-1's and M-16's during my service time in the Vietnam era.

That's how my Dad taught me to respect Guns. We treated the BB gun with the utmost respect. Play time was over when we broke it out. It's a good tool for teaching discipline and self control for the little ones. Shooting the BB gun was an "event" (at least until I was responsible enough to be allowed to take it into the woods by myself).

I do the same with my two boys..

I have two old ones around here that we used when we were kids .. Old Crossman 760 pump and a Red Ryder lever action.. I think I have a couple black daisy pistols or my brother has them.. One of those pistols has a stray BB rolling around inside - never could get that out..

Used them in wars, before paint ball was invented - Dig fox holes, tape 3 black cats (firecrackers) together for grenades. Bottle rockets for our make shift scud launchers

We had rules - Couldn't pump the crossman more than 4 times.. That rule was always violated . But the RR left some pretty good sized welts on your a$$ as well.

Corse ALL the rules changed when we each got Muzzle loader kits for Christmas. We weren't alowed to shoot each other anymore. We could shoot 5 yards in front of trespassers fishing in our pound tho. Unless dad beat us to it first with the Forty four forty. They got wet then.
