I got the old' "High Cholestorol" phone call from the doc today.

Takes some fish oil pills, eat less fatty foods, exercise more, bla bla bla.

I knew I shouldn't have let my wife talk me into doing my labs! Now everytime I'm about to eat something I'm wondering if it's gonna raise my cholesterol level!

I think the added stress will kill me before the stopped up blood pipe!

At least he didn't say anything about lowing my beer intake.

I just had mine done last month and didnt get a call so I am leaving it alone and going with the no news is good news strategy. You could also drink red wine its supposed to help with cholestorol. And if you do go that route I recomend an Australian Shiraz or Cabernet.

I have never had that problem. Maybe it's the jalapenos! I have a little high BP that I have to take a pill for each day. But, that's all.

I have a heart condition called Tacacardia and the drugs for that are the same one they sometimes use for High Blood Pressure.

So I should be good there. It's always around 110/70 or so.

I just need to get some more exersise.

I DESPISE going to the gym though! I could loose 25 lbs or so. I'm almost at 250 right now. Just under. I'm 6'6" though so 250 isn't fat *** by a long way.

Some of the meds are fine to take and cheap. Ones just a water pill, makes you go we-we more, thats like $10 for 90 days, better than stroking out. Prices are coming down, its about $75 for 3 months worth for me, at least I'm still drinking

Edit, 195 lbs and 6ft, some of us just have high BP

Yeah I know but I hate taking pills in gerneral. My wife practicly has to sit on me and force an asprin down my throat when I have a headache because I despise taking pills so much. I know mine can be solved by losing some weight to I am 5-11 and 264right now compared to 190 a few years ago before I took my office job.

Looks like you will just have to start spending some more time hunting. Maybe you could go on that "elk hunt" this weekend

I was in the same boat a couple of years ago. Mine was 242. I am currently 190. I started eating a little better (Still not very good) and run in the morning. I dropped 45lbs and 50 points on the crud. Now I feel like chit if I don't run in the morning. I only do 20-30 minutes Mon- Fri and 60 Minutes on weekend.

Good luck

Whatever you do, make a serious attempt at controlling your cholesterol with diet before adding another prescription to you list.

Go by yer local WalMart and get some Flush Free Niacin. It'll cut your Cholesterol at least by 25% and possibly more. Niacin works by increasing the manufacture of the good Cholesterol which reduces the bad. Do an internet search for the benefits of Niacin. It cut my sisters by 34% and she isn't on rat poison anymore. But make sure it is Flush Free or expect hot flashes. Here's just one article on it:
