Gasoline prices tend to go up during and prior to winter months. Refineries start to stockpile heating oil used to heat homes and other buildings. The more heating oil they produce, the less gasoline there is and the price goes up.
If a really cold winter is predicted, the refineries start cranking out heating oil earlier in the year and prices of gasoline go up soon after summer.

Thanks !!! I was really starting to lose sight of how cheap gas prices really are in the states. I live in So Cal, and the only place in the country where gas prices are higher is No Cal. I pay about $1.60 a gallon for 92 octane unleaded. It has started to go up again in the past few weeks. I saw in the news last week that oil was selling for $29 a barrel, whereas this time last year, it was a little over $10 a barrel. That tells me that the prices aren't gonna be dropping any time soon, unless we have a warmer than usual winter. I just can't imagine paying over $4 a gallon for gasoline. I hope you are making some decent money over there !
Take care,
~Chris
