Post F-150 7.7K

Business is booming and lately my truck is becoming a lowrider from all the weight it is hauling. My current rig is a great truck but I now feel it isn't up to snuff to meet the needs of the company. I know, I know, some of you already told me to trade it in a while back when I was asking about how to up payload capacity. Although I am not saying that I will trade in the truck, I might pass it on the the powers at be. I really don't like the idea of me travelling alone (or with a passenger on that matter) on a barren strech and all of the sudden something collapses, spilling me with 3/4 ton load of frozen fish all over the road. Should've went with a PSD F-250 or atleast a LD. Anyways, I would like to ask for some info about the F-150 7.7K. What is the payload capacity on that. I am looking for >2400 lbs. That gives me about 2000 lbs of usefull payload (-400 for me and a campershell). And I hear they changed the rear seat deasign. How do they fold? I like how mine folds, had to actually use it yesterday, and wouldn't imagine how I could do with a up-folding seat. What is the expected mpg's on the new 5.4l on a 4x2? What is the towing capacity? And anybody know much I can trade in a 30,000 mi <1year V-6 4x2 F-150 w/ a Campershell? I wonder, if I can reuse the campershell, although if I remove it, the truck will have 3 holes on the rails (used bolts instead of clamps).

Taken directly from my 99 brochure:
The lowest payload for a F-250 LD is 2,280lbs. That is a Supercab w/4.6 shortbed. The max payload is 3,295lbs. that is for a 2WD reg. cab longbed 5.4.

Basically any F-250LD will work for you but good luck even finding one especially a good deal.

You need to sell your truck outright or you will lose your shirt in trade.
Dealers will crunch the numbers to make it look like you want to see it on paper but belive me it is VERY hard to win when you trade.
They will not discount the new F150 as much or will keep your equity in the trade or will get you some other way.
As far as I know they discountinued the 250LD for 2000 and renamed it 7700lbs payload package F150.
If you are constantly hauling these heavy loads go with the full F250.
The whole truck right down to heavy duty wheels is designed for loading it down.
