Ford and GM to sell cars at cost...
Ford and GM plan to sell base model cars at cost... in Argentina that is. The plan is trying to help keep 150,000 jobs in Buenos Aires. It's good to know the US automakers are willing to bend over backwards in other countries, but are walking around with their hands out in the US.

If you read the entire article you would see things like:
state-subsidized loans,
$890 million government auto loans program is part of a $3.8 billion economic stimulus package,
government will provide three different financing packages with interest rates much lower than market rates, to be funded by the social security system.
The government of Argentina is borrowing money so pay the auto companies to not make money on the most basic models. So, just how exactly are GM and Ford (plus several others) "bending over backwards" to help other countries?
