Post Texas A&M Bonfire Tragedy

My sincerest and deepest condolances to those of you on the board who are students, employees or otherwise associated with A&M regarding today's terrible accident.

When I was there just a month ago at the A&M Kansas game, we were priveleged to attend a gathering at the President's home and to meet some of the group of fine young and women who were to be involved in the construction of this years bonfire, which I believe was the 90th year, absenting 1963, that this tradition has been observed.
My heart goes out to them and to you and my thoughts will be with you.

It's on the news and the internet.
The Bonfire pile collapsed, so far 9 dead and 20 plus injured and still checking dorms and participant lists.
No indication that I have seen as to what exactly happened, but it was very bad.

Yes, it was a definite tragedy.

I heard about it a few hours after it happened. Very sad indeed.

I happen to work for an engineering firm & my boss & several of the other engineers are graduates of A&M. I have heard alot of info. & thoughts on this whole thing.

I even got to attend a bonfire about 5 or 6 years ago & let me just say that it is a sight to see !

Anyhow, good luck & prayers to those involved & their families.

Before i say anything, I am an aggie's son so I bleed maroon. I just think that this should be considered as ironic. The fact that A&M is one of the countries' finest engineering and architectural schools had their own bonfire fall on them. I just hope that this will not impact any future bonfires.

GIG 'EM AGGIES!!!!

I happen to be a grad from the University of Texas and my heart goes out for all involved with this tragedy. I look forward to this game and all that precedes it every year, bonfire included. I also hope that they will continue the tradition in the future.
